When checking Archive.org for sites, I have yet to see anything from this year being saved.
Did they give any reason for this that I may have not heard about?

Whats up with archive.org? Are they done with web? For a while the whole web archive was down, now that it's back, they seem to be slacking.
Are they still being funded like they were?

Can anyone shed some light?

thanks

i don't have a site reference for this but weren't they sued earlier this year by a company claiming they had no rights to do what they do, etc.? seems like i read about this either here or on some other site.
if so, maybe that has had an effect on their activities.

I seem to remember they only ever show archives for the previous year and earlier, but could be wrong there.

For some reason I don't remember that being the case.
I guess we'll find out in three and a half months.

I'm surprised they haven't been shut down completly. Last year when I was checking some expired domains I found that they had archives of child porn sites, I contacted them about it but got no response. They may have done something about it since, but if they haven't then they're probably the largest hoster of child porn on the net.

Things like this work in a good and bad way, I like archive.org, Every single person has the option to block it, Same as Googlebot using robots.txt

I also thought they only showed archives for the previous year and older too :?

two things have happened during the past year..

archive.org was included in a lawsuit for some sort of copyright issue..

also if i remember correctly archive.org has been given the permission to archive any and all sites for historical purposes therefore, eliminating the copyright part..but after i saw the lawsuit it is certainly not making sense..but that is incorrect that it only shows after the following year because last year december..i remember i was keeping an eye on may/june and july etc..

unless they have changed something this year..?

Same here. I think they have a 3-6 month window where you can not see the history. I think a year is too long.
