Why are these dropping?...Well, because the last registrant didn't renew their registration. In order to keep the domain, you must renew it, or it will drop. Like the domain your talking about.

Now, if you made a booboo :D, and actually wanted to ask "When are these dropping?". You will need to provide the "update date" like "stuff" mentioned.

Don`t look this year, if its pending Delete then it will drop, Yes I have also noticed that the year of expiration will change into something else when the name goes to Pending delete, for example yestrerday dropped:

absolutsexo.com
deskforce.net
sidetable.com

All have experiation date 2004 or something like that.

I am sure that there is something about the expiring name having 1 year added to the Registry before it is deleted but I am not sure about the detail.
I believe this was discussed previously and a search might help.

The registrar has to renew the domain name to put it on hold, otherwise it would go straight into REDEMPTIONPERIOD.

I believe different whois checks from different services shows different results.

For example:

I use SnapNames which shows one of my snapbacks as
Status REGISTRAR-LOCK,
REGISTRAR-HOLD
Updated Date 2003-03-11
Record created on Mar 5 2001.
Record expires on Mar 5 2003.

Yet My Domain Name Analyzer Program Shows:

Status: REGISTRAR-LOCK
Status: REGISTRAR-HOLD
Updated Date: 11-mar-2003
Creation Date: 05-mar-2001
Expiration Date: 05-mar-2004

Anyone Know Why?
