I woke up this morning to an email from a frenchman:

***
This is just to inform you that you hold MY domain name intercomet.com due to incorrection from my provider active24 and its partners where I registered ans paid for this domain for many years before they alienated my rights. This means that I regularly visit it. Whoever will purchase this domain will also purchase this probles since I will never give up claiming that it has been stolen from me.

Since I hold inter-comet.com it will be easy to make a lot of trouble !

The only solution : give me a possibility to get it back under acceptable conditions.

Inter Comet

***

Guess what: I'm not welcome in France :-#:
I'm petrified... somebody help me
Any suggestions on what might be "acceptable" conditions to the above mentioned gentleman?

You could always mention you are so terrified of his " trouble " you will pay him to take the name

Leave it on him, ask what an acceptable condition is, if the name does nothing for you now turn into a positive.

Good one!
Im going to ask him how much I need to pay to stay out of trouble. Offcourse I'm giving him the domain back as well. I mean, his rights have been alienated ... this is the least I can do.

Do you think there is anything else I need to do?

If it's an error from the provider he should settle the dispute with them, not you

Tell him the non-hyphenated version takes precedence, and, therefore, you are the rightful owner of the hyphenated version, and he should turn it over to you immediately pr you will go over there and wipo his a**

Sounds like extortion to me.

Reminds me of that guy pretending to be a Attorney, who sent out threatening letters to cybersquatters, some of whom gave up their rightful domains.

Yes, I need to reach John Berryhill before he does.

Its not the question of an error... a man's rights have been alienated and he's not going to take it lightly
What would you do if your rights were alienated?

Famous??? If you give him a gun, I'll be history!

Anybody who has been in the domain business for long would have received dozens of threats like this. Very few bring a smile to your face... this one definitely did!

Ask him if he belongs to the 'French Free Fall Parachute Team'? If he doesn't then suggest he join but forget to pay for the parachute...........

I had someone try to bully me about a domain I picked up on the drop because they did not have the business sense to renew it on time...I would have worked with them as I had this same thing happen to me in 2004, but they decided to get all bad with me and make threats...

So I decided to refuse to deal with them and I continue to enjoy the ppc of the domain.
