hello,
thank you to take the time to address a simple issue,

i noticed that several threads are locked in DnForum, especially in the Sales section

recently i had 2 threads locked in the sale section,

and i have no clue why threads are locked ,
so can you tell me why a thread is locked,
and what the moderator/owner want to achieve with that

as a business person, i find it counterproductive to lock that many threads, it will scare potential buyer

it is a lose/lose approach that i just can not understand:

forum owner perspective:
loss of content = loss of engagement = loss of traffic
loss of prospective new members

for the thread poster:
loss of time and energy put into the thread creation
having a thread locked is not going to make someone popular on the forum
result: the poster will move to advertise his domains names in others marketplace

what do you guys think about it, and please don't be shy of your opinion

The sales section has explicit rules of format that if not followed would make for a flea market nightmare.

I have no problem with it. And yes I have had a thread or two closed there.

We serve our members here and everyone (Mods included) has to obey to the rules.
We understand you are a new member but it does not mean that we have to make an exception.
Here is the link to the rules:
http://www.dnforum.com/help/terms

There are also additional rules from each of the sub-forum.
Here are some of the common reasons why we close or lock the thread:

1. Make sure there is at least one name in the title.
2. Screen shot for traffic name is required in the traffic forum. A minimum of 30 unique visitors a day is required for this section
3. Illegal bump without additional information (update pricing, adding BIN, reduce price...)
4. Too many bumps - 3 bumps max for the life of the thread - One bump is allowed in the auction sections for the last day of the auction
5. Reduction is less than %10
6. List the same name(s) in several forums
7. Re-list the same name(s) within 7 days

We Do Not Delete or Edit Thread so don't send PM and ask your thread to be deleted.
Double check the title as YOU CAN'T edit the tittle after click the Submit button.

For the new-timers and old-timers - Refrain yourself from making comments in sales threads.

Happy Domaining! :)

i do strongly support this thread. soon . its just a common sense, when u LOCK somebody thread, just drop a message or reason why it was blocked in the forum itself, so it can easily can be identified what went wrong. Members who post may not remember all the rules on top of their head. becoz Dnforum is not only the place we are in to a business. its just one of the place.
these guys have to learn or introduce few more features.
thanks for creating this thread!
