Hi guys i have always been a big fan of parked.com but as we all know the revenue has died, So because i had so many names i had to develop to keep my renewal fee's up, So i noticed 1 of my domains that was parked with parked was getting good traffic and on googles first page for the search term of the domain. It was about 2nd from last on the first page , So i read about whypark.com and thought i will give it a try more pages are better than 1 any way i used whypark.com added content and optimized it and when google read it again it completely dropped from google , its like it got penalized by google and kicked out . A guy told me thats because whypark.com uses duplicated content and google penalizes sites with duplicated content . Has any one had the same experience with whypark ? My domain done much better with parked.com

The couple of dozen domains I have on WhyPark have done nothing, and I'm about to stop paying for the premium service (after 5 or 6 months) - money down the drain. I don't know whether the content is duplicated, but it's very poor quality, not the kind of stuff that would be "sticky" and keep visitors reading or bring them back. (Lots of it is way out of date, too.)

I'm not gonna say that Whypark is crap, but I never had any luck with them. I think I initially tried 10-12 domains with them around a year or so ago. I think to date I've made around .03 cents???? Granted they were not the best domains, but I had hoped they would have made just a bit more then that. This was also prior to them being "upgraded"?

Anyway, I have posted about this before on DNF, and I want to be clear, I am not affiliated with Noomle. But I am very satisfied with their platform.
I used to have nearly 800 domains parked with SEDO, and I averaged mid $xxx in monthly revenue. These domains were not keyword domains, but rather domains that I registered and parked solely because of their type-in traffic.
When my revenue dropped like a rock mid 2008, I tried Whypark for a few months and didn't see anything happening.
I found Noomle in February of this year and started pointing my domains to them. I currently have around 50 active domains at Noomle. I am again at the level of revenue as before the drop.
I think the biggest difference is that I can design each site individually to be unique, I can write and add my own content, I can place my own AdSense ads, logos, banners, videos, widgets. Prior to Noomle I didn't know jack squat about developing.

I have heard or read somewhere that Google doesn't like Whypark also. That was an initial worry of mine also, but I tried them anyway. I don't know. It just didn't work for me.
I am happy now with Noomle and I will continue to add domains with them for development. Noomle has really opened my eyes towards development, I have learned how to write my own SEO content articles, I have learned to design my own logos, headers and banners, adding videos, adding AdSense and creating channels. I thought a widget was a kids toy. Noomle made me learn the things I need to know in order to make a site SEO friendly.

I have a new respect for development and Noomle gives me all the tools I need to do just that.

Good Luck to you

I try to keep telling people asking about Whypark and wondering why they aren't making millions of dollars after parking with them.

First of all, Whypark is FREE.

Secondly, Whypark now places adfeeds from Parked.com, so if you tried them in 2008 or pre 4/2009, your results will be much different.

Thirdly, it's all about ORIGINAL CONTENT. No other product/company allows you to build your own website on their servers for FREE. You can add content, and with a cheap updgrade to Premium ($19.95 monthly), you can add all sorts of links and RSS feeds, connections, AND ADD YOUR OWN PHOTOS AND CONTENT on the custom pages.

What do you expect a company to do for you? Make $$$$ while you sit back with your hands in your pants? Only the few get that... no names here.

You HAVE to create custom pages on your sites with Whypark, or ANY content development service. YOU or someone you hire, will have to write at least a new article of 150 words once a week on your site. Google will NOT penalize you if you are attempting to make your site REACH google readers with relevant content and links that match what the user is looking for.

I hope this little tip gets spread around on DNF, so I don't have to write it again 20 times. I'd suggest for optimum tips on the best alternative to dead PPC results on landing pages, WHYPARK, sign up for their blog:

http://blog.whypark.com
http://blog.parked.com

Both these links will assist you in getting the most of your involvement with both WhyPark AND Parked.com.

I know all the domain monetization opportunities out there, and Whypark is definitely in the top five REQUIRED websites for domainers to be taking advantage of. I want to say... TAKE ADVANTAGE OF WHYPARK. UTILIZE their services they give away for free, because you're basically robbing them of the ability to charge you for your website building on your domain, where other websites charge you for the same features.

Use them like you used your parents after you graduated from high school.

Take the time to redirect your domains to their servers. Push 100 of your domains their way, and then work on each domain day by day, adding one or two pages of relevant and ORIGINAL content about your domain's topic.

Just do it, then in six month, come back to this thread and let us know your results. I'm doing the exact same thing, so we all can compare notes.

Yes there is - it's already been mentioned in this thread, and as I'm nobodies cheerleader, I won't mention it again.

Or, why not set up your own sites?

Hi James,

I should have quantified my statement further...

There is no website that allows you to create a site, set the parameters for receiving news articles from a database they offer with over 100,000 articles and growing, AND gives you adlinks from Yahoo from Parked.com if you wish.

I don't build my own websites because that's not my expertise, and I've wasted over a half a million dollars in the last decade hiring people to do it for me, and although there was a learning curve for me on that investment, and modules and free services have jumped up in spades since 2003, I'm looking for "SERVICES" that I can recommend to my clients and use myself so I don't get bogged down developing 3500 domains that I see as more valuable as enduser products within 3 years.

If you want to talk to me about developing, I'd like to talk to you.

cheers

I tried parking a lot in the past, and to be honest, it never worked out. Could be because my domains were crap, or just not enough type in traffic to make money.

Since I've come back into the game, I've gone back and re-registered some old domains or brought them from the current owner(s).

Most of them are developed, ranking well, and earning. One of them I had parked is now making $400 per month, consistently, where as before when the was parked, I was lucky if it made a buck a month.

I've never used WhyPark, nor do I intend on using it or any other parking company.

If I want easy solution like you suggest, I could quite easily set up a blogger.com account, get adsense, affiliates, feeds and have more flexability over the whole look and feel of the site.

You mention a database of articles, well, think how many people use the same one article? we all know the big G doesn't like duplicate content, and as they new "caffine" results are coming up now, more and more duplicated sites are dropping out the the SERPS like flies.

It's better to spend a little bit of time on building and optimizing one site, get that earning, then move to the next, than sticking them with a parking provider and hoping for the best.

My opinions of course!

Very happy with the search rankings of my sites there but not the income, I have the $25 month premium account which I have downgraded to the free account starting today. Can't operate at a loss and justify paying more than the revenue each month with no apparent growth in traffic after doing SEO work and waiting a few months for that to happen :disappointed:
