will there not be problems with nintendo going after some of the better wii domain names?

I know they won't go after all of them, but what about the obvious (good) ones?

Of course, they could. Right now, the wii domain names are helping their hype. Fortunately, three letter combinations like "wii" have been used long before this game system. The fact that Nintendo doesn't even own wii.com shows that the letter combination has had previous and popular use.

Nevertheless, Nintendo has a lot more money than all of us, and most of our domains probably wouldn't be worth defending (ie. hiring a lawyer, etc).

Wahoo! Wiigii!

Well said Jag. This was a pre-planned marketing strategy by Nintendo, in my opinion. They know us domainers would do a lot to further Wii's exposure. They need it to fend off competition from Sony & Microsoft...

The only potential problem could occur using the name Nintendo. There is no ambiguity there unlike the word Wii, which has been around longer than it's game conception.
