Hello Everyone.....
I'm not sure but the one domain I got expired at godaddy, I was not really worried about it. But they send a email, then I thought well may be I should just renew it. But it expired 10/10/2007 and then I checked, by adding it to my check out cart for a year renewly.
It showed the cost to be only $7.99 for 1 year renewal, but it said in the email this.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Expired domains will be held for a 30-day Redemption Period, during which time any associated Web site or email services may stop working. Retrieving the domain name during the Redemption Period will result in an $80 reactivation fee.
I took that to mean, the if it expired a $80 fee would be added. But it has only $7.99 in my cart.....
So is it only $7.99 for me to renew it now, or will godaddy just the $80 after I renew it with out showing, that charge in my renewal cart at all ????
It expired 10/10/2007 and if I can paid only $7.99, to renew it I'll most likely renew it. But if they just charge my account $80, after I renew it then I'm letting it go. And it makes me wonder, if the $80 is just added, why godaddy would not have that added to the check out cart.
That would be shady at best, as there is no good reason to not add the real cost to the check out cart. Other then to hope people renew, after they expire with knowing it's going to cost $80 more. But then again may be I missed some thing, and it really is only $7.99 to renew it right now.
