Yesterday, I downloaded Windows XP Service Pack 2. Its really good, I currently have "Norton Internet Security", which includes an anti-virus. I have noticed that the service pack has a Firewall, do I still need to keep, Norton Firewall on, or shall I keep both of them on?

Switch off XP Firewall and stick with Norton is my advice - don't use both.

i had a problem, my existing firewall did not work properly after i installed the service pack, even when the mircosoft one was switched off!.. i had to uninstall (my free firewall) so that i could even get an connection....out/in, not sure why , the service pack must have instaled some new files that both firewallls use.. or something..

i have the mircosft one switch on now but when i have the time, will get a proper one. or wait until i get a new router. with hardware firewall. (so buy my names, so iam safe on the web!!)

so I was without web connection for about 2 hours before i realise how to get round the problem.

in the update it probly says somethign about using thirdparty firewalls but of course i never read those things !! (maybe i will in the future, or maybe not)

Norton gives a check box explaining the problem of having 2 firewalls and allowing you to select your existing Norton Firewall.

I have also problems with XP Firewall , but I use it :-(

"Windows XP Service Pack 2. Its really good" I think should ask some Web Developer
IIS : ASP.NET + MS Access or MS SQL What he thinking about "Realy good"
How many keys should be used in Web.config to SWITCH OFF the new things for that "new security"

i heard about problems with xp and firewalls so i uninstalled
(mcafee) before downloading the service pack and then re-installed mcafee afterwards with no problems including using the xp firewall.
