Anyone enjoying the winter olympics?

Skicross is my new favourite sport to watch on TV - loads of action, close racing, plenty of falls, each race is over in a couple of minutes...I thought it was good on snowboards but its even better on skis.

Bobsleigh's good to watch - I'm even enjoying the curling. What's your favourite?

I have thoroughly enjoyed them.

I greatly admire those that can do what many only wish they could do.

The most fascinating person for me to watch was Shaun White.

No one even came close to the air this flying tomato was able to achieve.

Honestly, it looked like he was getting 20-30 feet of air in the halfpipe.

I love to ski but had to give it up after back surgery.

Ski jump - I wish I had the gnads for that.

Cross Country and shooting has always fascinated me as well. Can you imagine the amount of strength, concentration and training that takes? To physically control your heart rate, muscles twitching, and shoot a target. Stamina and training. And more training.

It has been a very enjoyable time. All of these sports that were once the Xtreme sports are now mainstream. It is great to see how the olympics has changed and adopted new competitions to attract a younger crowd.

The bobsled competition - man, 92 MPH on a sheet of ice.

Bode Millar was brilliant in Super Combined - his slalom was in a different league to just about everyone else, and hid downhill wasn't too shabby.

I know what you mean about the ski jump - I stood at the top of one in Finland (in summer) and the thing was swaying what felt like 6 feet - I just could not imagine launching myself down one of those...the Swiss winner, Amman seems like a character. In fact that's probably why I'm enjoying the winter Olympics so much - there are a lot of characters in it - not so many premadonnas as in the summer games.

Must be a good atmosphere - seems well organised.

Wanted to watch that - tried staying awake but must've dropped off just before it started. Woke up and it'd finished!

I was at the Winter Olympics in Innsbruk, Austria in 1976. Gee, that sounds so old! That was the days of Dorothy Hamill, Eric Heiden's youger days, Peter Mueller, the Mahr twins in mens Skiing, and so on.

The US did horribly in those olympics.

Parting is such sweet sorrow!

Alas, I must take a leave from the beloved Olympics to watch American Idol.

The closing ceremony is about to begin, but the celebration has already gone crazy. Downtown Vancouver is PACKED (I mean REALLY packed) around Robson street. Reason? Canada has won MOST GOLD (14), not only for 2010 but also breaking ALL historical records.

Yeah Canada! Happy to have won the Men's Hockey and to have hosted the Olympics here in Vancouver.
