Just wondering if traffic names might be more suitable for a leasing option, right now lets say a keyword (using one of my names as an example) gets 20 views a day, an advertiser pays 2.00 a click, so at 20.00-40.00 dollars a day cost to advertiser, some might be interested in long term leases, of course this might upset google if that option was employed by sedo.anyone have thoughts, I no many have tried and failed at leasing, but sedo and others already have the exposure

i dont think sedo handles leasing of domains but you could probably do it yourself with a good contract which most domain lawyers could draft for you. would definitely include exit clauses for bad faith or cause with examples well defined, advance payments, maximum of 6 month contracts with renewal clauses, and maintain all administrative control of the domain, just change the nameservers as the client needed.

Hi there Fatter,

We only offer leasing in the very very very rarest cases. We discourage it as much as possible as we have had bad experiences in the past and it very often leads to legal disputes. The biggest problem with leasing is that the party leasing the domain spends a great deal of time and money designing and promoting the site and, at the end of the day, it still belongs to the domain owner who can, at the end of the lease, demand an extortionate lease-extension or lease it to another party. It is also possible that important emails addressed to the email addresses connected to the website get lost once the lease is over. There are many unscrupulous people out there and we feel happier keeping out of this rather grey area.
If you are still interested in leasing, we require that the two parties thrash out an agreement with each other and each other's lawyers. We would only consider leasing in the very most exceptional cases.
Hope this clears up the situation a bit.
