Communicate.com Inc. (OTCBB: CMNN) sold the premium one word domain Wrestling.com in a private transaction for a cool $500k, one of the biggest domain name sales this year. The company is currently listing Boxing.com for sale as well and expects it to pull in more than Wrestling.com...

Nice sale, and not surprising with the popularity of pro wrestling.
Actually, it is surprising that someone would want to sell such a great, generic keyword, even at that price.

I wonder what the type-in traffic is on that puppy.

I believe the seller owns body.com as well, if Im not mistaken. Among others. Nice portfolio to develop or unload.

After looking at their site they have some excellent domains, even better than wrestling - with more mass appeal. So I guess they are focusing on their top names and using sales like this to help fund it.

Worth every penny... And then some.. I'll be bold and say that boxing.com fetches $600-750k.

I agree. I don't think that's being bold.

The only thing with Wrestling.com is it's a more popular sport at the participant level (there's high school wrestling, but not boxing).

Wrestling.com was purchased by the owner/moderator of another domain forum. This is big media news imo. I'd like to hear about some major network coverage (CNN, ABC, FOX, CBS, NBC) as it is an exciting and signifcant sale around a hugely popular interest.

With this price for wrestling.com it begs the question what price football.com or soccer.com?

But football.com and soccer.com are already established premium domains with attached businesses that i doubt the owners would be willing to part with.

3942 overture with ext! Diamond .com only 1831 with ext.

Way too cheap!!! Should have waited another couple of years imo.

The other .coms that they own are amazing. Brazil .com would be enough, but there are more.
