I've noticed some activity on this board with .ws domains.
The last I knew, .ws was essentially as valuable (or worthless) as a .cc.
domain.

I found a very good (commercially viable) available word in both extensions.

If you had a choice, which would you use as an extension? I suppose
it might depend on the name itself.

Thanks.

Very little activity with cc extension, but as you have noticed .ws has suddenly become quite popular.

Both .ws and .cc have little value, I would get the one with lower reg fee. :)

.ws hands down! .cc is the ugliest extension I've ever seen! :goofy:

I think .CC is great. Very short and easy to remember.
I have seen a lot of churches on tv using these addresses.

Here are just a FEW samples of developed sites
http://www.cdcovers.cc
http://www.warblogs.cc
http://www.guitartabs.cc
http://www.lion.cc
http://www.jci.cc
http://www.susandunn.cc
http://www.allegro.cc
http://www.scinet.cc
and the list goes on....

The price tag is the only drawback.
I own 2 two word .cc domains

With .WS you have the advantage of the "website" terminology.
But I am looking at availability and price first and foremost.
The only affordable place to buy one of these is godaddy $7-$10.
If you buy anywhere else expect to pay $25-$70 and up to $100 transfer fees.
I would say that this factor keeps people from speculating in most cases.

Overall the lesson learned here today kiddies is that when you are a developer on the internet sometimes being colorblind to other domain extensions can be a benefit. I think the largest factor that comes into play is how often do you think out of the box and are you able to sell your ideas and those of others?

.WS naturally , But I dont care for the "website" connection ..I mean of course whatever.ws is a website .. I prefer .ws =WorldSite , worldsite is how they were originally marketed .

.Ws is also being treated by the search engines (the ones that matter ) as a GTLD instead of a ccTLD . meaning global SE reach.

ws by a long shot.
But I have a Q for bid. What do you mean that search engines are treating WS as a gTLD???
How is that, and which SE?
not google as far as I see.

Neither of those two bullshit extentions. For the activity on the board; notice that it is provocative and created by same poster again and again...

I have listed fuelcell.cc and publish.cc
Both quailty names with no buyer's. I have listed 30 .ws and sold ten of them. I tried to set up buydomains.ws as a key word to my site domainturn.com the result's are not in yet but I seem to have lost traction in google and yahoo. I like .ws but I really like .info It look's nice as a leader to run adds off of.

I hope everybody makes money...

Registerfly is soon to offer 7.99 .ws reg's.

I like .cc better though, especially since I have a dominant keyword domain with a cc tld in the SE's. #1-2 in GG, YHO, MSN out of 4-5mil
I've just never seen a .ws dominate the SE's like this before.
