Hehe thanks Rusty, but the thread's done and I'm happy to answer questions. It's a VERY interesting subject that a lot of people don't know about, unless they happened to watch the reality TV show about it.
As you see from the link someone posted, most everything there is 2x or 3x the price you would pay in the states. Because this is the new gold rush, rooms are difficult to book and expensive. A lot of places there will book by telephone only. On the TV show, even the cast live in storage containers, abandoned school busses, and yurts/tents. The tent option is a rough one because 50mph winds are not uncommon, and bears WILL visit you and often kill people.
There are some 'tours' there if you want to pay for it, and by that I mean I just looked at a 6 day flyfishing camping trip, which requires a helicopter. 6 days will cost you $7,500 per person and you must be in a group of 4. $15,000 deposit for booking, $15,000 due 2 weeks before the tour. Fishing license, tips and extras NOT included in this price.
There are some fairly low airfares from my area now due to a JetBlue promotion causing a mini airfare war, so I'll get in cheap at $1,000 roundtrip.
