Ok, so I been going back and fourth on this question for a while now and mainly its all about motavation and getting it done. So here is my outline and see where maybe you would fall in OR what you would do.

As far as selling my names I tried them all and here is my results in a nutshell.

1. Via Forums) Sold low domains here and really dont sell anymore unless im responding to a WTB post

2. Sedo) I maybe sell 1 domain a year here but still list every domain I get.

3. Afternic) Just sold my first domain through there in 1 year

4. Godaddy Listing) Have domains listed but no offers

5. Via email and/or Sale Page) I sold 95% of my domains either via a email from the whois OR a lot of my domains are 1 page sale sites with domain info, sales pitch and a contact form and I sell this way maybe 1-2 domains every other month, sometimes more.

6. My Own Domain Website) I had this built out via Prostores and it was good as it looked like a real shopping place for my domains (shopping cart and all) but only sold 1 domain that way and felt like I was wasting time.

Now im kinda thinking for 2011 going back to option #6 but would like to see like other "domain selling websites" where they list their portfolio with prices (or not) is it worth the time listing and promoting IF you have done this.

What is youe best method for selling....

ps: Think of this as for non premium domains as we all know PREMIUM domains would not need exposure for selling really.

mine would be:

1. sell maybe one or two domains a year on the forums ( so far this year though, i've sold 2@ np and 2 here at dnf)

2. most of my sales have been at sedo ( just closed a sale yesterday and had a few so far this year, with 1 offer still in negotiation)

3. haven't sold a domain with afternic since 2008

4. don't use godaddy

5. via email: this is where i've received most of domain offers/inquiries and practicallly every inquiry that ended in a sale was closed thru sedo.

6. my own website: i get a few leads a year from my website, but those offers are sent thru email, so #'s 5 and 6 would be combined for me.

7. every now and then, i'll get a phone call inquiring about a domain. a few sales have been negotiated this way.

imo...

First, I haven't use afternic to sell.

I received a lot of email and phone offers, this is why I don't use privacy in Whois records, don't make sense.

I sold domains from unexpected places not related to domain name, a free classified ads based locally. This is the reason I developed www.dcweb.com to a free classified ads for washington dc area. Most business in washington dc still looking for a great domain at the right "entrepreneur" price. You may post your domain name for sale free.

I will add social media selling approach like facebook.

So to wrap it up, I will use these approaches for years to come:
Email and Phones will be open to accept offers
Local based free classified ads
Social media

Cheers,

Best source for selling?

Your WHOIS data.

Change one of the names or organization to DOMAIN MAY BE FOR SALE.

I sell much more off the forums and off sedo or any other selling channel simply using direct contact via WHOIS.
