I missed a 4 letter .com that was offered to me for mid $x,xxx it was a misspell of a very well known car insurance company that is purely generic and predates the companies tm and gets hundreds of visitors a day..I think the new owners are making $200-$300 a day with it currently...pisses me off everytime I think about it, lol.

Ohh well, they did'nt ALL get away!

Juice.com @ 35K

Ohhh I remember that one dude, I reprimanded you severely for it. :undecided:

That is one of the best food/beverage domains on the Internet imo.

It's a million dollar name.

Good old Microsoft beat me to it. Not sure what they wanted it for...

Actually though that wasn't my worse miss, the other miss was a mid six figure geo domain that I almost bought for 2K. The seller backed out of Escrow.com on me, and sold it to the domain leasee for 3K. I then offered the leasee 10K, and he laughed in my face. What really burns about that one, is the guy was hours away from transferring me the domain, but I lost internet connection, and when I got back online he had already burned the deal. I will now always wonder if my lack of internet connection was to blame, or if it was a dead deal already. Not going to list the name of that one, because I am still thinking about tabling another offer.

And everyone already heard the story about me missing "fishing.com" when it was avail. back in the mid 90's at a friends house when I first heard about "domain names" from my now current business partner....I did'nt even have a credit card at the time and it got shuffled away in the things I wanted to do list...years later I really got into domains around 1999-2000 or so and have been kicking my own a$s ever since for missing that chance to register the mighty fishing.com..I think we had to fax something to netsol at the time and did'nt have $70 lol

Remember, people will have these SAME kind of stories about domains available RIGHT NOW or being sold on the market RIGHT NOW...the present always eventually becomes the past, so don't miss it. If you do, you will be the "shoulda, woulda, coulda" guy...and you don't want that.

Good old Microsoft beat me to it. Not sure what they wanted it for...

Bill Gates had the spare 35k laying around no prob. and he thinks domains are the fastest appreciating commodity known to man I think... :worried:

Just smack him in the head for that sh*t if you ever meet him.

Seriously..like they need more domains...make sure you don't have any "juice.com" typos! lmao

RunningShoes.com which I could have got very easily for under $400. Still feel the pain most every day. Heard it now does a million $ year revenue.

Not sure if it is a miss...but I let eCreditReport.com drop in 2005...was not paying attention and had an old hotmail account as my e-mail...never got the expiration notice.

Wow, good question. Going to have to give this some thought.

At first I thought it was going to be which one I no longer own that I miss the most. That is a NASCAR racing team that I am not allowed to disclose. Suffice to say, it pisses me off everytime there is a race and they win. At the time I regged it, the race team did not even exist. I figured it was a matter of time.

In the end there was a great possibility I would have lost it in a court battle. It did contain the name of the TM holder.

We reached an agreement and that was that. End of story.

This seems like a weird question to me....

Since after every auction that ends...at a later date...i think...I should have paid more it was worth it. It happens all the time.

So the better question should be... What were your best catches?

Since everyone has missed a lot...but some have never caught any good ones ;)
