Just won an auction for YZYV.com costing me $65. The traffic is rated at 12,000 + but no detail on the age of the domain. EstiBot appraisal is $5,800...but I would prefer to get appraisal from experienced domainers', like yourself :)

....how much would you appraise this LLLL.com for? I'd have to guess $100+ ?

***I know that "Z" is a desirable letter in some LLLL.com domains...not sure why, though***

I would be very concerned (and skeptical) as to what was the source supposedly giving you those figures for traffic.

As a name it is worth zero. Go whisper this name to a stranger on the street and tell him he wins a prize if he types it in correctly when he gets home. My guess is he will not win the prize.

Anyone who mentions Estibot I cease to take seriously as a human being, and I wouldn't trust any person on here in life or in business if they threw around useless appraisals like Estibot has.

I see you just started here, so don't take it as a personal attack, as it surely is not. Another thing you will want to avoid saying is that your names are premium or generic. You haven't done that here, but 99.9 percent of the time when you see those phrases next to a name here at Dn Forum and elsewhere, you can bet your life that the names are incomprehensible dogshit.

Good luck on your domain journey. Now is the PERFECT time to get involved. The best time to buy any asset in the world is during times of economic pain and uncertainty. Read up and gain knowledge and you will eventually figure it out.

I normally see names like this or similar being listed for $25, and if it gets lucky it sells. If not then it remains unsold. Then, the price gets lowered, when it doesn't. I'm no appraiser, but I agree with WhoDatDog. Still, there's always chance you get lucky, slim though.

When in doubt, always ask yourself some basic questions. Can you imagine someone spending decent money on this name and then devloping a site around it? What competitive advantage does this name bring to the table? In other words, why would someone buy this name off of you for more than they could by some other name?

You can also do the radio test.....if you heard it on the radio how easy would it be to remember? I use the "whisper in some stranger's ear on the street analogy" sometimes, or something similar. That's what domaining is all about.

And ALWAYS ask yourself if you think a reasonable person or domainer would rather have this name, or the cash, if given the choice. I think that if this name and a $100 bill were sitting in front of 100 domainers, probably all 100 would choose the $100 bill. That is the ultimate test.
