Should you invest in CVCC ccTLD domain that is a popular word but has thousands of irrelevant backlinks? As per web archive, the domain was used for parking by some Japanese website (2Style.net).
Having thousands of backlink does not mean much if the lienks are not relevant to the website your planning to build or if it does not generate any traffic. There maybe domains with many backlinks which are spammed on forums and blogs. Check where the backlinks come from, check how many refering domains are there etc
Links to a relevant website can help if they are from decent sources, but not so much from spam sites, in fact spam links can actually hurt your future seo plans, not to mention that they won’t stay up for too long. Spam tends to go away after a period of time and is not a reliable source of traffic or seo links.
Yes. I thought that too. Over a period of time spam links don't matter if the new site has a fresh start and provides good content with relevant SEO. Correct me if I am wrong. Also to note that Google's March 2024 core update speaks about 'Expired domain abuse'. Hence, investing in such a domain and reselling for a discounted price (60%-70% of retail price) may be a good idea.
