Just last week I lost my first one to BD. VillageTheatre.com - that would have fit very nicely in my portfolio. I say we firebomb the bastards :)

Actually, Amazing!
I believe that you got domains with pool.com which were not having SnapBacks :)
Why don't you own club with i.net or others ... Oops, shut up!
That's bad idea for us :D

That means that one side of the argument won.

I keep saying the same thing. My MAJOR competitor is BD.
And, he has a database on names years out.

For example, I had GlobalDesk.com covered almost everywhere.
BD "took it" yesterday. (Took it - as if I owned it!)

Actnow,

If enough people say "I find this offensive and damaging", then it should not require a majority, a rule, a whatever. Common sense says, respect the other members of the forum and don't do this. You are right BD is the major competitor, but only fools post info on expiring names before they expire. And the people defending them show a lack of consideration too.

Zorro,

I think there is a "ransom" market. :)
I'm making a half serious suggestion -- Why not demand a monthly tribute from all domainers to discontinue posting daily lists?

I agree.... lists like this shouldn't be posted for free for anybody to see, you are insulting everyone that does their work months in advance to find these names.

I typically never find the need to explain what or why I am doing but I'd rather do it this time:

DomainRetriever:
You have presumed that this is a free service. You should know that there is no such thing as free lunch.

The list of "12-07-2003" was posted so I could ascertain how snap fares vis-a-vis other services.
I wanted to gauge how well snap does if the snap-back list is public information and there are multiple speculators chasing the same set of names.
The results were important for my business...and I'm not concerned about "people who worked hard to snap some of these MONTHS ago"
I dont see why other somebody else's business interests are more sacred than mine.

The feedback via PM was interesting. There were atleast a dozen DNF members who were interested in these lists...and were willing to pay for it.
The list of "15-07-2003" was to published to solicit more feedback and it has served its purpose.

Nobody has suggested that your Domain-Retriever software is "bad, illegal or stupid" so I dont know why you said this about my service.
Since both accomplish the same thing: they help a domain name speculator.

aactive:
Shaun...sorry but you just have just got it all wrong!

Yeah, thanks for the list, Zorro! It keeps others distracted from get my targeted names on their radar.

The drop game is so competitive today for the small player, you have really 2 options :-

1. Be prepared to machine-gun the names you really want with thousands of dollars.

2. Let a member here get the name, and then buy it off them.
