This evening Monte replied to my email and said that the final Traffic list should be up tomorrow.

Pardon me if I don't get excited or necessarily believe this. The last list didn't come until the last moment.

I'm still waiting for payments for domains I sold at the last auction five (5) weeks ago yesterday. I'm still trying to find a reason (an excuse?) for Moniker's delay.

Sellers, don't be in a hurry to collect and you won't be disappointed. Hope your reserves are high enough to offset the time delay and lost opportunity costs.

Other than that, life is wonderful...

I was emailed what was described as a "partial list" of domains for the TRAFFIC Auction West 07. They don't all look live Live Auction candidates so these have probably not been sorted. Also, these are only domains that were submitted to my particular account exec.

Note-I've edited out the partial list now that the full list has been made public.

It looks like Moniker has published the full list of 3850 domains for TRAFFIC West at:
http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/files/Master_Auction_Domain_List.xls

Two of the four domains I submitted, political.com and evc.com, made the list. Now I'll keep my fingers crossed that they will make the cut for the live auction as well.

Of those 3850 domains listed, they note that 350 will be selected for live auction, and the rest will go to silent auction: "You can influence the final selection of Live Auction domains as a registered attendee of the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West Conference. Log in to the Live Auction system now with your exclusive T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West password and indicate your interest for specific domains you want in the Live Auction. Only those domains receiving the highest indication of interest will be added to the Live Auction inventory. The deadline to indicate your interest is Wednesday, February 28. The final Live Auction inventory will be updated and posted on March 1, 2007."

Thanks Cliff!

I think Moniker should decide at their sole discretion which domains should be auctioned live. Unless I'm missing something, if someone is interested in a particular domain, there is no incentive for them to show interest beforehand thus increasing the likelihood of it going to live rather than silent. The domains being auctioned live will get more attention/exposer thus possibly resulting in a higher final price. Look at the sale/no sale ratio of prior auctions where this same method was used. I'm surprised it's being done this way again. Moniker is capable of picking out the most saleable domains. If they did it, it would result in a higher sales ratio and a higher total sales figure. Is my logic flawed? It wouldn't be the first time. lol

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Cheers,

Eric

There's actually a lot of reasonably priced premier domains on that list!

Things change.

The link which you kindly posted above now opens a file that states the live auction list will consist of approximately 250 domains.

Not sure if the 250 or 350 number is the most recent/authoritative one. Does anyone know?

350 seems quite ambitious given the hurried second half of the previous live auction.

There's no way they will make it through the 250 domains let along even dream about hitting 350. Won't happen. Never has, probably never will.

I'd think about 250 as being a bit lofty but possible.

Good luck!

18 of my domains made the list, but I'm not sure if they will go live or not, does anyone know when the live list is expected?

I agree, even 250 is lofty.

Didn't listen to the Internext auction, but the previous 'proper' TRAFFIC auction started great and finished less well (than could have been the case) exclusively because the number of domains was too high. Not only were some domains not offered for bidding, but some that were offered and got bids may have sold for much more if people were given more than a couple of seconds to put in higher bids. At least that's what it sounded like in the late afternoon, I wasn't there so I may well be wrong.

Congrats! Your Domain Has Been Selected

Dear Domain Owner:

Congratulations! Your domain(s) has been selected as part of Moniker’s Live and Silent Domain Auctions at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West in Las Vegas, March 5-8. If you haven’t already done so, please review the master domain list to see the specific domain(s) selected.

Please also take a moment to review the following instructions on what you should do now:

Prepare your domains for sale – If you haven’t already done so, open a Moniker Account and transfer your domain(s) to Moniker now. By opening an account now and transferring your domain, Moniker can process the post-sale transfer more quickly and easily, resulting in a faster payment to you.

Reply to the Sales Authorization – Keep an eye out for a special Moniker Domain Sale Form of Authorization (FOA) officially designating Moniker to sell your domain in the auction. This FOA will be sent to the official WhoIs contact on record. Moniker must have this FOA to ensure you are the legal owner with the authority to sell the domain(s).

Sign and return the sales agreement – If you haven’t already, please return the executed sales contract sent by your Senior Account Executive. Moniker works hard to promote and market your domains at auction, and our Auction Series raises the profile of all domains associated with it. Whether or not your domain is sold in the Live or Silent Auction at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West, Moniker will continue to market your domain aggressively on your behalf throughout the sales agreement.

Important: If you previously had the selected domain(s) listed for sale in any other venue, please be sure that domain is removed right away. Moniker markets all domains in the Live Auction in good faith and will apply commission charges to any sale that occurs on domains covered under the terms in our Exclusive Right to Sell Agreement, whether or not the sale occurred through a Moniker venue.

Post-auction prep – If your name sells, please be prepared to transfer your name to Moniker immediately, and sign the escrow and sales agreement in a timely manner. At that point, we will also need to find out how you’d like to get paid! Payment options include funding your Moniker Account, wire transfer, pay pal payment, or paper check.

Good Luck!

Thanks again for your participation in the Moniker Live and Silent Domain Auctions at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. West and good luck. If you have any questions, please visit our Auction FAQ or contact your Senior Account Executive for more details.

Sincerely,

The Moniker Auction Team

I didn't get the email telling me my domains had been selected...

But I did get one Friday that said the following:

"At this time, you may review the complete list of domains to see if your domain(s) were selected. From this master list, Moniker will select the top names to be included in the exciting Live Domain Auction on March 7. A preliminary Live Auction list will be posted in the next day or so. The final list will be determined by the indication of interest from attendees to the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Conference in addition to domain quality, reserve price, and relevant statistics. The Silent Auction will run from March 6 - 14, and will contain the very best names available plus any names that do not sell in the Live event."
