Hmmm...that is interesting. I submitted 175+ of my good adult domains but was only asked to reduce the reserve on 3 of them, unlike the past where I was asked to reduce on 25 or more. If there were 40,000 submitted, that is a LOT to sift through. So while one of mine is in the initial list above, I'll have to wait a little longer to see if any others made Live or Silent.

One of mine is on that featured list. I submitted about 35 - 40 - was asked to lower the reserve on 3, only one of which I considered a really really great name. (All of my names were GOOD ;) ) They kept the reserve I had set on the featured name. I tried to be realistic on my reserves.
My rep said they were shooting for a full list Jan. 3 - hope their aim is good! I think it works better if that list is up there for a while for potential buyers to do their research etc. It's not always love at first sight. Waiting until the last minute to publish lists hasn't worked well the last couple auctions... and I'm sure they realize that.

Your right, it takes weeks to get a reply, but Don does reply eventually... The questions I had were not urgent, so I'm not too bothered by it... but it's still unacceptable.

I like how suckingtits.com isn't censor-worthy but ****inggirls.com is. Can't wait to hear the auctioneer go wild over these.

Aw wait, did raider just post them like that to beat the filter?

Moniker needs to improve their screening process b/c I submitted names that blow half that list away in terms of Overture rank (1mil+ overture for some of the adult domains I submitted WITH low reserves) and exactly 0 were chosen.

Tatooing.cn $25K? Kinkerbell.com $50K? Televisions.la $50K? Drugs.am $100K???

I wouldn't get concerned just yet. That is only about half the list and the bulk will certainly go to Silent. There is usually around 3000 names, 300 for Live, 2700 for Silent.

I'm sure Monte just wanted to get something out for buyers to start their purchase consideration because we're getting close. If they had 100,000 names this time, that's 60,000 more than last time.

It is probably just taking a lot longer than normal, and with iDate coming as well I'm sure everyone is working hard to get everything done in time.

I have many "better" names that were submitted and didn't make the first list. I can only hope they are still being considered.

Taking in account poor results of previous adult auction, the current list seems to be more realistic:
1) No (or almost no) non-adult names with superhigh reserves (like Iran.com with 1M reserve - it was accepted to an adult(!) auction last summer).
2) Most names are in $1-5000 range. Indeed, this may be the reason why a lot of "better" names are not accepted. Must be the only way to attract end-users to this auction. Last time, I beleive 99% of buyers were domainers even though it was internext.
Furthermore, looking at the domains I submitted, I guess that real reserves for accepted names are almost all LOW. An example (made-up example not to "call names"): somebody's sexy-women.net with in $1-5000 reserve is accepted and my sexywomen.com with $3000 reserve is not accepted.

The list is still somewhat strange though:
a) At least 2 domains were registered AFTER auction submission deadline.
b) Good number of domains were registered (I bet handregged) within 3-5 days range before auction submission deadline or even exactly on November 6th which was submission deadline. I am not sure can such domains can be called good enough to be auctioned.
c) I may be wrong, but it seems that domain selection also depends on current registrar? I see almost no domains regged with known dropcatchers, almost no domains regged at Netsol - still very popular, very small number of domains regged with Fabulous/Dynadot/other_domainer-friendly registrars, almost no domains regged with directnic/intercosmos which is a known home for a LOT of adult domains.
The majority of accepted domains are with godaddy family or moniker or enom or dotregistrar. I wonder why...

Even though I can confirm that a lot of "better" names were not accepted, I hope that current methodology may attract ENDUSERS. Indeed, on other case, only domainers go to internext in order to bid...

Very interesting, How many different registrants would you say are doing the regging? anyone we know? I'd be interested to know how many they had to register vs how many were accepted.

In browsing the list, 9 of my domains were accepted.

This appears to be a partial list of 1500 names. It does not state Live or Silent yet and it says more names are to be added.

Thanks John!

I am actually quite disappointed in the quality of domains they are showing. Honestly think a quality name in the adult world could easily be worth millions. It's the equivalent of owning the land beneath Manhattan. Flipping alone can bring double or triple the price. For example, Sex.com and porn.com could easily surpass 20 mil in value once financing in domain names becomes mainstream. Just my 2 cents :)

FYI, my partner & me submitted 223 names for this Adult auction (about all with Fabulous) and a cool 48 of our names were chosen.

Many are names with the words: girl, women & videos. Refer to list.

I see the initial one-word names from the preliminary Live list getting the big money, like,

BJ.com
Taboo.com
Effeminate.com
Bisexual.com
Foreplay.com

However, as we've seen in many of all the domain auctions, the best names are often set with extremely high prices and there are no buyers. Just a Hail Mary toss out there to see if there actually is someone willing to pay that much.

The names that are pure adult could possibly command less, like Cum.com or Twat.com because they are censored words on many forums, search engines, and are often filtered, you think?

There is also some really famous phrases, like, KissMyBlackAss.com, EatMe.com, BackAlley.com, DominanceSubmission.com, and SpitOrSwallow.com that could do very well in Live.

I'm not sure if there is even 300 one-word names total this time that could be obvious Live choices.

One thing though I noticed was that EatMe.com is on the preliminary Live list but isn't on the master inventory list. Was it removed from auction?? I'd love to own that one. I'd bid on that one if the price is right but it isn't listed.

I wonder if "PrematureEjaculaton.com" was intended to be sold in Live as a misspelling? Or is that just an error in the preliminary live list? If it really has the missing "i", I could see where that could certainly be developed into something profitable. I'd be interested in this one if it is the correct spelling.

I made a boo-boo myself. I didn't submit a .com that I have and the dang .mobi made the list. :(

Just my early morning thoughts.

Edited: Is anyone here going to Internext? Will there be a Live web feed?
