I have 5 in live (1 at xxxxxx reserve) - and 13 in silent.
I Haven't been to an aution at internext -but i've been to plenty of internext conventions. There is a big deal good bye party the last night - so people will be staying for that. The last day of internext, believe it or not, you've drank about enough booze - seen enough nakedwomen, and gambled enough.
I agree closer to the beginning of this event would be a better time for it.(before high rollers have spent all their money on strippers and blackjack) With 'ring girls' with the domain names on cards (and litte else) - working the room. It is a 'sex' convention after all. Give aways are always a draw too - free hosting - tshirts - alarm clocks - etc - maybe moniker should even buy one of the names themselves and do a drawing/giveaway of a domain name.

I'm so very happy my names are in the auction - and wish i could be there. I loved the networking part of the convention - but was never much on the party part (too old and female!)

Moniker.com Announces Complete Auction Inventory for Internext Las Vegas

Pompano Beach, Fla. January 11, 2008 – Moniker (http://www.moniker.com), the leading provider of Domain Asset Management™ services, has announced its complete live and online auction inventory is now available online at http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/index.html.

The premium adult domain name auction will take place at Internext Expo, the world’s largest business-to-business online and digital media adult conference, on Tuesday, January 15 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm in the Palms Ballroom at the Palms Resort and Casino, Las Vegas.

More than 250 domain names will be on the auction block during the three-hour premium auction. An additional 2,000 domain names will be available for purchase during a concurrent, online auction, which begins on January 15 and will continue throughout the week following the live auction.

“The adult online entertainment industry continues to expand year over year with new sites being developed every month,” said Monte Cahn, president of Moniker.com. “Moniker’s premium adult domain name auctions at Internext allow online developers, with various degrees of online experience, to purchase domains that will enhance their business.”

Moniker’s domain name auctions at Internext Expo allow entrepreneurs to purchase online domain names that will add to the overall value of their business or individual portfolio. Moniker was responsible for selling more than $20 million in adult-related domains in 2007 including the domains sold at both Internext auctions in Las Vegas and Miami last year.

Those who can’t attend but are interested in watching the live auction can visit http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/index.html to watch the auction through an online, streaming video feed.

Special Domain Name Auction to Benefit the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP)
At Internext Las Vegas, Moniker continues its commitment and support of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) by donating a domain from its portfolio, AdultPhotoExchange.com, in the auction. The proceeds of the sale will be donated to the ASACP to continue its efforts. Committed to eliminating child pornography from the Internet, the ASACP coordinates with the online adult industry to combat the exploitation of children.

Last August, Moniker.com donated the proceeds from the sale of AdultWebDesigner.com, which netted $2,400, at the Internext Miami auction.

Internext Expo Auction Rules and Procedures
Only attendees at Internext Expo will be automatically eligible to attend the private live and online auctions. Individuals not attending the Internext Expo will also be able to participate by purchasing an absentee bidder registration for $199.

Telephone bidding will also be available to individuals who want to participate in the live auction but can’t travel to the conference. Interested individuals should contact [email protected] or call 1-800-688-6311.

Official auction dates, rules and procedures for all Moniker Live and Online Auctions can be found by visiting www.moniker.com/liveauction.

Domain Name Financing Available
Moniker, along with its partner Domain Capital, will offer domain financing to leverage domain purchases made at this event or for other transactions. Moniker and Domain Capital have been pioneering the same concept for virtual real-estate for years in a fashion similar to real estate mortgage financing. Please contact a sales representative at [email protected] for more information.

Me, too, but I'm glad they have streaming planned.

I just looked at the newest list which has the Live auction order. I thought they put all the names in a hat and just draw the order but I'm not sure how they do it now. No complaints. Just curiosity.

My Moniker rep emailed me and said she was working the show floor trying to round up buyers. I have this visual in my head -- I'd like to see how she is doing that. :)

One of the six names I submitted made it (to the silent auction, I assume)... And it's the sole (and first ever?) .co.in. Cool. Good luck y'all!

I was kind of surprised that there is so many of the non-.com extensions in the Live
It appears a smattering of .net, .org., .de, .eu, .cc (?), and .mobi are included. I wish I had thought to send those in but didn't think there would be any interest in anything but the .com's.

It looks like the results will be posted at http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/events/185/results.html I think it is 4-7 pm Vegas time tomorrow. Hopefully, the streaming video will work well this time.

I'm not sure how we will get to see or be updated on the Silent results this time as they will be using the Snapnames platform insteade of Moniker's for this auction. Maybe they will give us access through our Snapnames accounts?

(Yes, the single .co.in is in Silent)

***********************************************************

Okay, I admit that now I'm concerned. I can't find a place in Snapnames for the Silent Auction. It looks like all the Silent names were simply merged with the million names already in the Snapnames database. There is also nothing on Snapnames auction pages which even mentions the Internext auctions.

Unless someone is simply glancing through the Snapnames database doing keyword searches, I'm not sure how anyone would even find the names. And when the Silent is over, how do we get them out of the Snapnames database?

What am I missing, John M or someone else from the former Moniker? If I'm wrong, please let me know. Otherwise, it looks like only the Live names will be put before the Internext members this time around with the Silent names lost in a really huge crowd.

I caught that, too. Imagine, trying to sell someone other names when they are considering our name. Dat jes ain't right. The only reason I found out about it was because I get a daily email of names for sale and mine just happened to be on it today.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I do wish Moniker had left things alone for this auction instead of rushing the new changes through. Customers and sellers both have auction expectations based on past auctions, and this would certainly give me pause.

Indeed, it is unfortunately impossible to find silent auction names from the main snapnames account screen and also there is no downloadable list in the "lists" section...
also no announcements on snapnames website.
Nevertheless each link at silentauction.moniker.com leads to snapnames website with an opportunity to backorder the domain name.
Not only snap is trying to upsell other domains at backorder time, but also the order page misleadinly says that they will "TRY" (!!) to obtain domain(s) when they become available".
The good side is that there is no more need to pay silent auction entrance fee.

For SNAP It makes sense to do the following ASAP: Make the domains searchable, publish the list in downloadable section lists, remove misleading text and upsells attempts. Also everybody would appreciate an opportunity to track the auctions progress.

One more thing
i checked a couple 'no reserve' domain names - and the starting bid is $300. So in truth the reserve is set at 300 minus moniker's fee rather than 'No Reserve'.
Is that standard?

I just got this via email:

Moniker will host a Live Adult Domain Auction today at Internext Expo in the Palms Resort and Casino, Las Vegas.

About 250 domains will be offered. Live video of the bidding will be streamed. Even if you are not attending in person, you may still participate in the Live Auction via telephone bidding, or you may leave an absentee bid with the auctioneer.

Concurrently, SnapNames will auction an additional catalog of more than 2,000 premium adult domains from Moniker’s Live and Online auctions at Internext. The online-only bidding will continue through January 25.

A SnapNames account is all that is required to bid on these exciting domains.

Don't know if thats a good thing. People bid at the last minute and at nearly 2 weeks later thats plenty of time to forget all about it. All I need is 2 days and I usually forget whats on auction.

Hopefully snapnames will be driving some of their traffic to these auctions, they could end with some pretty incredible results in that case.
