25 per registrant... 1 year free... no purchase necessary.

I just got 25 for each member of my family (guess what they're getting for Christmas?)

namesecure

picked up 3 more .info domains tonight but as this was the first time i have ever used namesecure.com (previously diretnic.com and domainsite.com) i couldn't figure out how to modify the namesevers to allow for sedo parking. not sure if you have to go url forwarding vs. the modify-- got three error messages...if anyone knows how to change this please let me know--thanks!

Yes, from what I read on their site, you can't edit the nameservers (not for free anyway) but will need to use forwarding. Haven't reg'd any names there, though, so I don't have any experience with them myself.

Best,
Rob

I think this majorly devalues .INFO sites if Afilias has to come up with these kind of offers to try and boost their registration numbers and bottom line.

21,844 new registrations according to whois.sc

I was unable to register 25 names because the site went down.

In the long run it won't devalue them in my view.

But at the same time you don't mind such a devaluation too much, right, since your next line states that you were trying to reg 25 names yourself!? :-D

Well the traffic is totally killing DomainSite.com and I think it's selfish of DomainSite to offer .INFO's for free when they know there only intention is to boost the number of registrations under their belt and get free advertising of there services.

While its plain and simply keeping there site offline due to traffic and preventing legitimate access to their sites by paying customers and prospectful paying customers. I also think they will not be able to handle the level of support that will be demanded by the 10's of thousands of new free domain owners its sending there way.

You get what you pay for.... and when it comes down to it will they provide support to all of these thousands of people?

I agree with you. In the short run the scarcity of .info will raise the price but in the long run the fact that many of the domains are own by speculators that won’t waste money in developing or advertising their domains will produce a big devaluation.
