www.ausregistry.com.au are releasing 50,000 free .id.au domain names to Australian individuals with free hosting and email attached to the .id.au. They must be Australian residents and it must be their name (or variant) or nickname.
The catch is though that after 6 months you have to pay ($AUD79 or 99/year).
They have really been marketing this throughout Australia and believe it will convert to 1/10 accounts remaining after the free 6 months.
