In past, there was many BOMB BLASTS in MOSQUE too (Blast in Mecca Masjid of Hyderabad which killed nearly 20 people in Friday prayers). Terrorist just want to kill people and possibly wants to create tension among different communities, but this will not happen as INDIANS are stick to each other.

Terrorist has only one MOTTO, kill and create havoc, they use any mean to do this. And Thats why they even target Temples/Mosques.

Also has hallmarks of Al-qaeda as they chose a popular city with westerners

If there was any justice in world those responsible would burn in hell for eternity, but they won't as it's all b*llshit including religion

Goes on to show you that life is too short to be wasted on petty things and you should enjoy every moment you have been given on this earth!

Very well said Lord Brar. I hope you guys are safe there and take care of your friends and family. It is simply unbelievable..

No. They were bombs placed on cycles and detonated remotely with remote controls.

Actually it is being said that the module which carried out this attack is type which keeps extremely low profile -- they don't hire taxies and they don't book hotels. Bottomline, they leave no clue and make it very very difficult for security agencies to nix them.

This was scary.

I was about 2 km away from the place when the blasts happened. One of my friend's dad was in the very same market where the first of the blasts took place, less than 300m from it...and the cell phone networks were jammed, so no one could get through...gave a panic attack!

To top it all, these guys chose to detonate the bombs on a Tuesday near a Hindu temple. Tuesdays are supposed to be holy for Hindus, and there is a huge crowd at the aforementioned temple.

Not cool. Definitely not cool. Things like this seem so distant and unreal that when they happen close to you, they just shake your sense of security

Sashes -- where were you? I was at Talwalkars behind Mr. Beans and it was kind of scary how near it is to the epicenters.

**! Why do these terrorists have to do this sort of crap?

Because they're terrorists. :upset:

Hopefully the casualties are minimal from this but CNN is reporting 60+ dead. I have no respect for people who go after religious targets like that (well, anything strictly civilian).

Glad you're OK, LB and the other members here.

I was on MI Road, Moti Mahal to be exact. Thats almost walking distance to Johari Bazaar...

And the cellphones...they never work when you need them the most..

The cops were already in hyperdrive, and on my way back, the traffic was moving fast. Everybody wanted to get back home as soon as possible.

I still can't imagine a reason why they would choose Jaipur. Rajasthan has never had any security issues before...

And the cellphones...they never work when you need them the most..

If your network is set up like they are here in the US there are priority channels. 00-09 for civilians (lowest priority), 10-13 for police, doctors, and other emergency services, and 14-15 for military and direct government.

When an event like this happens, emergency traffic picks up (along with all of the civilian lines making calls). The wireless network gets inundated and so do the land lines bringing everything to a screeching halt.

Yeah, it sucks (my parents didn't know if I was alive or not for several hours after 9-11) but its good to know that the resources are being diverted / prioritized for those who need them.

Worst case, send a text message. Here, if it can't go though it will continually try to resend. eMail is usually a good alternative, too.

Ehsan - can't say that ISI has never been involved or never funded these groups. But well, leave that discussion aside I am posting what media is reporting.

Yeah I seriously think that India should ****ing give Kashmir to Pakistan and be done with it. We are losing so much money and people in there that it is not worth the time and effort for India. But too many egos involved so not sure it is happening anytime soon.

Lord Brar: Thought you are smarter than that!

If you give Kashmir then, they will ask for Delhi and so on.

they are crooks and they do not stop.

They want the world to be converted to Muslim or Arab what ever the F** they call it at that time.

Stock, you have no idea how many lives and money are being wasted on that piece of land. Let them go wherever they want and after that they will realize what it meant to have stayed where they were.

My dad was in the army and he spent 6 years fighting on the border. And you will not believe how many of our unit's soldiers we lost. For what? People who have no value for what this country is doing for them? Give me a break.

But yeah, it was more of a rant I was making and it isn't like just by me posting there the Indian government is signing a treaty tomorrow to give Kashmir to Pakistan.

Anyway let's not make this thread controversial and keep our views to ourself.
