I think the exact price is private and cannot be open to public, and some report in Chinese domain site had been revoked, there is no news about this deal in Chinese related sites.

And I found 61.com have been launched now.

61 means 1st, June. the International Children's Day, is an event celebrated on various days in many places around the world.

It is the most important day for Chinese children. And every Chinese children knows the day and waits for the day.

So, 61.com is the most brandable domain name for Chinese children.

This is a very discreet and wise investment.

It's actually the other way around, although it kind works that way as well =)

Even though I wouldn't consider 61.com to be "garbage", bu surely it's more valuable to someone that actually can make the most out of it.

I guess it's one million RMB, and NOT USD.

Glad I am not the only one finding it odd that someone who just joined is posting a claim of $1 mil paid that is unsubstantiated.

Odd that the person posting knows everything about it - except the details.

Recommend that this thread be moved to advertising as it is most likely a fabricated story to drive traffic to the site.

It's funny that someone thought that I posted this thread is for cheating traffic to this site. This site is for children, and only for Chinese children, have 30 million registered user and 10 million active users, and I don't think you're the potential customer.

And it's also very interesting that someone thought one million dollars is too high and is impossible. 1 million dollars may be too high to you, maybe not the same to other ones. I hope you guys to search some news about 51, ccb, zj, qq, qq.net, hb,pptv, xaixin, tudou, youku and many other domain sales acquired by China companies or individuals. You will be CRAZY!

Then how about offering something a little more substantive than

i don't know
i'm not sure
it may have been
or it may not be
its private
its not public

Hey, did ya hear hip.com sold for 38 million?

Want proof?

Too bad.

So if we don't know the exact price, then we cannot talk about it, right? So I only can post as this:

Hey guys, I heard that one company bought one domain, and I really don't know how much. Some famous website said that it is about ??? dollars. But I have not got the exact price, so I cannot tell you, and I even cannot tell you the price that website reported. For I really don't know. And do you know? please let know, then I can post here.

This forum is littered with people making claims that are not true, unsupported, or later found to be false.

It is also littered by those that post fictitious stories and made up facts that are nothing more than them making a post as a form of self - promotion. There is a section for that.

If you want to add to the rumors, then add to the rumors.

If you are met with skepticism by being a first time poster coming onto the forum and announcing such great news but can't (or won't) name a source or can't (or won't) post additional links to the story - then don't be at all surprised if people want more information and are a little timid to support your announcement.
