When I'm trying to open dnforum.com it gives me this msg

" You have been denied access to this forum. The reason is that you are visiting us from a place that has been blacklisted as an Open Proxy. You have to fix this, and return.

If you want to know exactly where you are blacklisted, go see www.tornevall.net/cgi-bin/ip.cgi. "

My ip is 212.73.95.*

This is shared dynamic IP provided by biggest ISP in Armenia ( beeline.am ) , and I do not have a clue what to do .

Right now I've access dnf using proxy vtunnel.com

Can anybody from stuff help me

Thanks

Great to hear!

We are actively trying to tweak the system to keep fraudsters out.

Implementing some proxy blocks and many other security measures that we will mention over the next 2 weeks are just the start.

Feel free to make your suggestions on other things we can do to prevent fraud.

I'm really glad that DNF is doing its best to prevent the scam unlike other forums .

And as mentioned before , mandatory member verification will be a great step , however you'll face some problems on this stage .

For example I want to be verified - but I can't

Why ? because I live in Armenia and if I'll send you my utility bills I don't think that you'll understand anything.

What about paypal , I have verified paypal for my own use , but I've asked my USA friend to open one for me , so it's not on my name

I think best decision is to require Government issued document, such as passport , Driver license to be attached when somebody is trying to open a new account ( and for existing members too )

Hi,

Everything should be fine now. Please let me know if you continue to have the same issues.

Huseyin,

I have ben getting the same error since yesterday and have been accessing the forum through vTunnel. I use a dsl connection with the biggest ISP in India and am allotted a dynamic IP everytime I connect to it. Faced the same issue 1 hour back also when I tired to connect again.

(If you want to know exactly where you are blacklisted, go see www.tornevall.net/cgi-bin/ip.cgi.) When I click and go to this link it gives me the same error again at this new link also and I dont know what to do or how to remove the error since the place where this error can be resolved itself is not letting me in and giving the same error.

Please resolve the issue as logging in through vTunnel is a problematic exp. in itlself. Thanks.

This system is now disabled, so you may possible have it cached.

I would delete your cookies, temp files and release/renew your ip.

As soon as I disabled it most members were able to access right away.

I haven't been able to log on but am again. Appears I was listed as a thor exit node, though it has been a couple years ago since I used it a couple of times. This proxy filtering is a good thing but perhaps the list keepers should rescan the IP's once every x months. They were helpful getting me off the list though.

Look great Adam if we can block scammers here!
But not if we can't login

Completely Agreed with Carter.

System should work in a manner that its own members should not be bothered. I understand that it takes time to implement various security measures, but meanwhile Genuine forum members should not suffer.

If this provides any help to filtering out improperly banned IPs:

I was getting the message while at Panera and then Barnes n Noble on free Wifis.

Yup no problem. Was a test and its something we wont implement even if 1 of our members are affected.

We will implement many security features to protect our members though through various means that will be annouced when implemented.

Had a few issues last night, now everything is fine. Nice to know DNF makes security a priority.
I really hate to read about members here being scammed, whether its their own fault or not, it just isn't right.
I think it would be good for all members, current and new, to be verified. IMHO

Hi,

Yes we are moving towards the verification system.

At current we have changed our Payment processor over from PayPal to Google Checkout where fraud protection is much better. Helping avoid potential fraudsters at the time of membership upgrade or purchase is a big step.

Google verifies a lot more items including:

Google performs industry-standard Address Verification System (AVS) and Card Verification Value (CVV) checks to prevent credit card fraud.

The Address Verification System is used to verify the identity of the person claiming to own the credit card. The system will check the billing address of the credit card provided by the user with the address on file at the credit card company.

The Card Security Code (CSC), sometimes also called Card Verification Value or Code (CVV or CVC), is a security feature for credit card transactions, giving protection against credit card fraud.

Advanced risk modeling
Google employs advanced risk modeling to detect fraudulent transaction cues across Google services. Google also actively leverages external, cross-industry resources-such as worldwide fraud blacklists-to prevent fraudulent users from accessing Google Checkout in the first place. This is proactive prevention and is not used by most merchants on the internet.

Automatic fraud detection
Google proactively identifies and filters out fraudulent transactions. All fraudulent transactions are immediately cancelled after being detected. Any pending or in progress orders associated with the same credit card will also be cancelled to protect you.

Supplemental manual review
If a transaction appears to be high-risk, Google will restrict the order to protect you from shipping the order to a fraudulent buyer. During this time, our Google Checkout specialists will review the situation further, cancel the transaction if it's fraudulent, or release it if it's valid. We may also contact you directly as a backup precaution.

Information sharing
Google Checkout provides buyer verification information within the buyer's order details to help you run your own fraud checks as needed. If you're concerned about a particular order, or if you're unable to contact the buyer with the information we provide, you have the option to cancel the order to avoid further risk.
