It only says the former majority shareholder of Sedo sold their share to Adlink.

This is 2 weeks old.

Maybe that'd explain the downhill service.

Interesting news item...

From the article, I get the distinct impression that PPC will be even more of a focus than it already is now at Sedo.

Sounds good, but don't be so sure ...

* PPC is a highly competitive business.

* The acquirer will have presumably even higher expectations for earnings than Sedo did previously.

* Sedo will likely retain much of the same staff, policies, etc into the foreseeable future.

* PPC earnings are under pressure from competition, fruad, etc.

* Lack of focus ... PPC is a very different business than selling domains; GreatDomains has many fualts, but they get one thing right for sure - to sucessfully sell, one should concentrate on selling.

Sedo for some domains, perhaps even a large percentage, has more of an incentive to NOT sell them due to parked domain earnings...

Many sellers look at PPC as pure profit, but that's erroneous, since one could likely earn more in the longrun by linking their domains to their own stuff - be it custom content, for sale page, etc.

This is a non-story as the seller owns 82% of the buyer. It therefore only represents an internal restructuring.

could explain lots of things.....

it's hard to be the first at anything....sedo was , imo, the real first domain parking service in the market....

imo, sedo hasn't done enough to IMPROVE their service ...hasn't done enough to improve their business....like with most companies, some thing "once on topo, always on top...." a lot of people forget that it takes work to STAY on top...

Not sure I agree with that. Sedo are in the process of revamping their site. I am very pleased with their current parking programme but have been frustrated at their limited implementation of IDNs. I understand that that is currently being rectified, and we can look forward to regional and linguistically targeted banners to make most of non-English traffic. This should provide a very valuable service.

No kidding seeker...restructuring and shifting in the PPC market strategy. No wonder it's all quiet on the eastern front.

not only the first in the market, they did also some good deals with Registrars. So multiplied their salesforce. I think they did it not bad in the past.

New to Sedo, and so far everything is good. I did speak to a customer serviceperson and they in fact said that there are areas in their site that are under change.

Ciao,

There are a lot of faults with the Sedo system, but frankly what are the alternatives? Ebay and Afternic are a complete joke as selling platforms and having played around with a few, I have yet to come up with a parking programme that is superior.

If your frustrated with your earnings, as indeed I am, you can only conclude that either the market is not ready for your offerings, being too US-Centric and dot com dominated from my perspective, or your domains simply suck which maybe something that some of us will have to face up to!
