nameslave,

Interesting point. I've only been to china a few times and did not interact a great deal with the locals, so I cannot refute what you are saying one way or the other. It is an interesting point however.

I do live in another Asian country though. It is quite similar here to what you are saying. Tons of peasants with don't use the internet anyway, and an upper middle class who does. They have the latest phones and shop for name brands. They still only make $500 per month. A far cry from the American consumers who make $3k average+.

That said I WAS NOT SAYING in any way that it is poor to invest in these markets just that IMO the traffic will be less valuable PER PAGE VIEW, on average. The same way that Poker and ForEx traffic is more valuable than Social Networking or blogging traffic.

In China, the advertising targets vary from super rich class(billionaires thousands people), rich class(millionaires 470,000 population), uper middle class(avg income $100K/year multi millions), middle class(avg income $10K/year tens of million people),medium people (avg income $3k~8K/year hundreds of millions,), low income class(lower than $3K/year hundreds of millions), young people(no or few income, but can spend $1K~$100K/year hudred millions).

Without clarifying the ads target, it is not good to claim the ad prices high or low. In some special categories, the ppc are much higher in Europe, Japan, China than US. Sorry, I do not disclose more here.

In the long run, the cctld domain names and IDNs will rise very much.

I am not surprised with the sale of the sofa idn. Just congratualations to the buyer and seller!

The ppc/ppv prices depend on the ROI not only depend on income level of the targeted people,I would say.
