Subject: Your Internet Address

Good morning,
Please excuse the direct approach regarding the domain Compensation.Info.
My name is Phil Norris and I work for a company based in Germany, my manager has asked me to contact companies who are using the term in their own web address or for marketing their business on the internet; I can see that this is certainly the case with your company “compensationexperts.com”, and wondered if you might be interest in the domain Compensation.Info? The term has an average of 33100 searches every month in Google and with such a strong keyword and search volume I am confident that this may be of interest to your company.
Please appreciate that I found your details on the internet and will not be pursuing you further on this matter, should this not be of interest you need not reply, please rest assured I will not mail you again.
If you would like more details please do get back to me, if you are not the right person to be speaking with I would really appreciate it if you could either let me know with whom that might be or alternatively forward my request to the responsible department, any guidance or assistance would certainly be appreciated, thank you in advance for your time.
I look forward to hearing back from you.

Kind regards

Phil Norris

I thought you wanted to sell this domain.

Why did you contact me if you don’t want to sell it?

The purchase of a highly generic domain is not going to be given away for $40. I replied in the same humor as you with your offer. Why would I sell a keyword domain for four years reg costs when I have offers closer to $6,000?

Perhaps my humor is not appreciated, I certainly enjoyed yours. Or were you actually serious…

You wouldn’t need to be desperately sending random spam if you had a $6000 offer. $40 is the offer. YOU came to ME.

===

Oh please I manage a team of sales staff who manage a portfolio of 200,000 domains and sell between 2 and 4 thousand every year. I have been a salesman for over 20 years. It is because I have the offer that I market the domain to encourage bidding and increase the potential ROI. I would be dumb to accept the offer without first looking to create an interest. Besides if you had not made an offer you could call it spam, you made the offer, admittedly a stupid offer but all the same you made it.
Perhaps you could put your vast budget towards another free to reg domain:

Howcanwecompensatethelackofhumoridemonstratewheniamhavingashitday.com

Or

Dontworrythereisnocompensationformypermanentabiltiynottoseethefunnysideofthings.com

Wishing you the very best on your endevours and hope that when you look back you will see the funny side

Phil

It's unsolicited bulk email pitching a sale from a company I have never done business with.

This is the very DEFINITION of SPAM.

I agree although I can see arguments of offering a .info domain to a .com owner. As a seller who initiated contact he could have acted a bit more professional.

Just out of curiousity, (if) how would you contact end users?

Why wouldn't they push their $6k offer into an auction?

I get these crap spam emails from domcollect.com most every day, sometimes as many as a dozen a day. They suck.

yes, these mails really sucks.. if i have a domain ex: domainnamebeenheldbyme.net, they will keep sending mails for
a) domainnamebeenheldbyme.com or some other extn
b) some other domain in plural version ex: domainnamesbeenheldbyme.net
c) some other domain with same set of keywords ex: domainnameheldbyyou.com

i keep getting mails from few fellow domainers and i can see a clear difference on the professional approach by them.
i tried putting filters, rules.... somehow they manage to enter my box

said that, for once it is ok to receive, if they send again ... then it irritates me ... and more when they do not have unsubscription option!

"Please excuse the direct approach regarding the domain xxxxxxx.com" as they send you multiple emails daily using the same BS line.

I agree and having read the other posts, I stand corrected as I thought it was all about an individual e-mail.

His trader rating is zero but sedo's ranking is high. I don't know that how his domains selected for super premium and FAIR Sedo's great domain auction. You can see his forum posts in which he announced about his domains in Great domain auction. Looks that he has full hold of Sedo's Auctions therefore don't need to put his domains for sale here in Dnforum. Moreover he paid fees for Exclusive membership.
