Annoying Research Calls regarding domains?

Is anybody else getting calls regarding surveys about domains/ registrars? I have had a new phone # for only 4 weeks and have received two calls in the last two days. To me , these are the euivilant of SPAM, and they are obviously getting the info from my updated whois info. Is this legal?

WHOIS info is public, so I do not see why it is ILLEGAL.

When I get telephone SPAM, I interrupt the and say, "Please put me on your do not call list". By law, they MUST abide by your request. If you get mad at them and curse them out and call them every name in the book, your telephone number will still be on their call list because you did not request removal from the list.
