Any domainers around here who eat Organic?

I drink tea all day long, caffeine free . Sometime I do the coffee thing.

Organic food from the local store, that gets most of its produce and meats from local grown farms.

I'm in 90% organic category as well.

The flavor is much better and working hard to think global and act local.

No kidding. Donut in one hand, coffee in the other alternating with a cigarette.

So glad I quit smoking about 4 years ago.

The Number one reason health care is so costly and the number on killer in the US.

We are a society that likes to break things down and have a specialty for this and that. Its all bullshit because its the same thing. It is a multitude of human anatomical systems and their interaction and dependency on the other. Cripple or hinder one and the others start to fail.

American friends that stayed in Greece long enough to buy fruit and vegetables at the local street markets, were surprised at the "juiciness" and taste of tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelons, the crispiness of apples etc. I have to add that Wal-Mart is the worst provider of food in the US today. It's cheap, it's crap.

We grow leaf lettuce in spring and fall - head lettuce will not do well here. We typically grown 2-4 varieties of tomatoes with Roma being some of our favorites. We grow perhaps a dozen or more herbs.

We grow Blue Lake and Eagle string beans, Yellow and Silver Queen corn, red yellow green sweet peppers, Sugar Bush cantelope and Pie Pumpkins. I am sure I am leaving something out.

I try to have a garden. I grew tomatoes which did EXCELLENT here and you could grow them all year round - until the mice moved in.

Basil does extremely well here if you water it often and rosemary does extremely well (and you don't need to water it often). Squash did OK and most other similar vegetables (zucchini, cucumbers, etc..).

Now, I'm growing scallions and peppers (bell, sweet banana, and some jalapenos). Mice don't seem to like them but this leads to....

Truly organic is no chemicals.

Using natural fertilizer and natural pesticides is fine.

I found this stuff called "shake away" which is crystallized fox, badger, etc.. urine. It did great the first month but then it did horribly. The only real mouse repellent we've had in the past was ferret poop. The mice went no where near our house when we had ferrets.

I've looked and looked for repellents that are safe for our dogs but these two are the only ones. Poisons are too horrible to use and if anything eats a poisoned mouse / rat - it gets poisoned. This is why I liked the shake-away and ferret poop - it is 100% natural AND the worst that will happen is our dogs will have a tummy ache (and some diarrhea) if they eat a lot of it.

Of course. Let's start with one of my favorites and damn simple:
Natural organic yougurt garlic deep

500 grm of organic yougurt mix with chopped organic garlic, chopped parsley and or/cilantro and/ or dill (Focus: Of course you can use your favorite herb! ) add some sea salt and mix again... Enjoy!



This mix (deep) is great with baked potato, peppers even toasts! It's extremely healthy and yummy!

Can't eat/ Do not like garlic? Mix it with herbs only...
