Yes - but it will undoubtedly end up at least ten times more than I paid for the Snap.

Actually Namewinner got me Wholesome.org a few days ago (beat the Snap on it). Of course no one may have taken a Pool slot on it.

It sucks how 2-3 months ago, when I got a snap on a good name...I was sure I was going to get it,

Now, when these names are going to drop....Pool shows up and takes them all....:)

Oh well, SnapNames will pull out in the lead again.....I hope..

This is a double edged sword. Yes it is getting tougher to get the names at the prices we used to pay (eg on a snap), but in the long run this should put up the value of the names we are holding and grabbed in the past. Mr Market always balances the books in the end.

SnapNames got a lot of money for nothing if ya ask me. Just think how many snaps are burning out. Plus, if you put a snap on a name 6 - 8 mos in advance, when it looked like a sure thing, well, wake up and take a swim. Pool is kickin some serious butt and those early snaps are more likely to miss the name now. SN is very slow to react. Im Simply not buying any more. Snap, crackle, drop.

Agree, they have lost I estimate 9 out of the last 10 snaps for me.

Likely will never buy another Snap again. I have several Snaps I could reuse and hesitate even bothering to do so as I am sure they will get beat again.

What a huge decline in their success compared to a yr ago or so when they were so excellent. Anyone know the reasons?

Very annoying as some of those I had the Snap 2 or 3-mos before expiration only to have someone else grab it at the last minute after all my time and work.

I think the reason is obviously increased competition. Pool (headed by a former Snap exec), GoDaddy, Club Drop being revived, etc. Seems everyone discovered at the same time that there was sizeable amount of money to be made in expired domains and they all jumped onboard the same train. Bad for Snapnames and snapholders of course. While it has been painful to lose with so many Snaps, the bright side is that I am routinely getting names that I didn't have the Snap by using a different service. That was a longshot in the past.

Of course you have to keep in mind that nothing stays the same for more than a few months in this business. Snap has some very bright resourceful people and I wouldn't expect them to throw in the towel without a fight. It will be very interesting to see how they answer this challenge to their supremacy.

Snapnames totally dropped the ball with .org. Remember when the .org switched over and snap lost so many great .org names to manual registration? Totally clueless. You'd think they would have learned their lesson. There was no excuse the second time since everyone knew when .orgs would start dropping again. That's unbelievable incompetence on their part. How hard would it have been to prepare for when the names started dropping again. They had a whole month. If that is any indication of how snapnames plans to survive in the tough times ahead. My money's on pool.com. Pool was totally on the ball and ran the tables on .org and are smart enough to get in on backordering the new extensions. Since snapnames had such problems losing registrars, you'd think it would be in their best interests to grab as many names as possible to send more business/monthly revenue to out and keep them happy.

If snapnames just thinks they can run out the clock waiting for WLS, I wouldn't have much confidence in that strategy based upon how pool has outsmarted them every step of the way so far.

Or, another drop club.

When you have an important name to "you" dropping. And, you are waiting to see who will get it; those couple hours are very long.

I don't understand why snapnames is not getting any .org. The system is in place. All they have to do is switch it for the morning drop at PIR. But, it appears they are not even trying.

You could make the argument that they promised to "attempt" to catch the .orgs and they accepted your money. But, they have not caught any .org names that I know of.

As anyone caught any .orgs with snaps within the past two weeks?

As anyone contacted SnapNames about their performance with .org (and, .com & .net)?

I am sure they are working hard on it. But, if a couple people complain. They might even work harder on it.

I have not contacted them.

Additionally, I have curtailed my high, last minute bidding at Pool. No more high bids from me on .orgs.

Ouch, may have spoke too soon.

After going 3 for 3 with Pool.com, it has missed my last 6 backorders lol. Oh well, so much for its dominance. It looks like its anybody's ballgame again.
