There might be no clients. They're just trying to buy it for themselves.
Trust me...I considered that as well.

That is why there is no way I would agree to their 15%...no offer and vague statements. Quite possibly do not have a buyer nor an offer but want me to commit to them to broker it.

I received an email from a domain broker relating that they have a client interested in one of my names.

I am not too cool to the fact that they tell me to keep in mind they charge a 15% brokerage fee.

Something seems to be real screwy in this industry...they contact me and tell me I pay a 15% brokerage fee??? Most "normal" businesses and industries pass the brokerage fee on to the client they are representing - in this case the buyer.

Let me guess...the total fees are perhaps 30%...a 15%/15% split.

Good point. The law of agency used to mean that the client paid the fee and was entitled to fiduciary. Unfortunately, domaining is a young industry and these concepts are still taking time to sink in.

Today is the third day since the initial contact.

There has been no response since I made my reply to them.

Gee, what a surprise...

Let's be honest: to get end-user prices you need ...end users! WOW, what a huge revelation.
Over the years, I have made some great acquisitions on DNForum and some sizable sales. Very few DNForum members possess an end-user investor's mentality and budget. The rule "buy low, sell high" always applies.

Does Latona's buy for their own account or do they act as a fiduciary, and if so, for whom? Without disclosing these things upfront, people lose confidence.

I would ask the same thing of Rick Schwartz. He also buys and sells domains at his own TRAFFIC auctions, doesn't he? How is it possible to do that without there being a conflict or an appearance of conflict? Schwartz blows hard about ethics, but I'd be more impressed if he walked the walk.

:(

Honestly, why keep badgering me about it?

If I post a name for sale for 25 bucks, I get PM's offering 8 bucks and they still want me to pay renewal fees.

There is no definition of reseller prices and I don't consider someone offering me 5% or 10% of a price posted to be a serious, reasonable, or respectable offer (emphasis on respectable).
