Anyone know why some some threads appear to disappear?

I have noticed sometimes entire threads disappear for mysterious reasons. Seen it happen a few times in recent months.

For example, yesterday there was a thread by DomainBell (her first post in 2 years) which also had posts by other members and myself but appears to be gone today.

Wanted to check the thread this morning to see other comments since I had posted about dubious values of valuations from Esitibot/Valuate on a group of reg fee type of domains mentioned in the thread by member DomainBell. The values went far beyond what you would expect to see (I believe the names in the list were basically reg fees and not the 100s or 1000s of dollars posted as coming from Estibot/Valuate).

Never though about that aspect but couldn't it get moved instead?
