For an amount exceeding, say, $250?

Just interested. I'm wondering if the market's as dead as it looks.

So, things aren't that bad then. That's good, let's hope they keep selling!

They are definitely slow, but if you have decent names, they sell.

My recent (i.e. last 3 months) sales include:-

aussie-rules.com & australian-rules-football.com
leyburn.net
electronickeyboard.com
espions.com
cardoors.com
cellphoneplan.com & cell-phone-plan.com
cellularantennas.com
chemistrydictionary.com
computerprocessors.com
helpings.com
jobhunts.com
pianokeyboards.com

and approx. 40 other domains.

While I can't talk about specifics of sale prices, none of the sales were for less than $50 or more than $2,000.

I registered over 500 names, and finally sold just one, by accident. I made up the name for a product, but it turned out to be the initials of a very large Oriental corporation. They paid $25,000 for one version of the name, my name was a better version but I took less, $22,000, but I also included in a package deal of other elements, including marketing information, business plans, and other names. The market isnt dead, but its very hard to find.

1. I am not ahead of the game. I paid premium prices for names outside of dotcom.
2. I did not negotiate price. What happened is that I registered the PLURAL version of what I thought was a made-up name. When I went to get the singular version, it was taken. So I typed that into the browser, and saw it was advertised for sale at $25,000. I checked back a few weeks later, and saw that the large corporation had built their website on it. So, I just made them an offer and they took it. The plural version actually is closer to their product, but I wanted to make a deal, because they are interested in helping me develop a couple of my names. At this point however, Im still in a small loss situation, especially considering the huge amount of time.

Had several offers a few weeks ago for video.us of over $1000, but turned them down since all seem to be other afternic resellers looking for bargains (I'll probably sell for mid 4 figure range).

Have several offers of over $500 now for rafting.info.

Sold PDAsite.com for over $500 a month ago, if afternic and escrow.com ever get the closing done correctly. (Afternic doesn't do it's own DNescrow any more).

I'm getting lots of under $200 offers lately, many more than in the previous 6-8 months. The market seems to be making somewhat of a comeback.
