Stories like that remind me how young the domain industry still is.


I thought about this a lot yesterday. I mean it's good for a laugh but there is also a message here.

Let's face it IT types are (usually) not the type of people to be marketing orientated. It's all about coding and servers and that takes a different personality. Add that to a CEO who has no idea about the internet and doesn't see it yet as a legitimate sales channel and what is the first thing they do.

"They put the IT type in charge of the internet marketing."

At which point it fulfills their expectations of not producing anything because it isn't a legitimate sales channel. :yes: Accordingly why spend any "real" money on it.

Perhaps this is where CIRA could be doing more to advertise in business mags or major newspapers where they can connect with the CEO's and EDUCATE them Or at least get them to appoint an assistant to get educated for them.
