hello all!

i just wanted to announce the upcoming Bids For Kids Domain auction coming october 1-3. name submissions are being taken now :)

we partnered up with escrow.com and bidjit.com to put this together. we will have this on the front page of bidjit sometime next week.

some info-
its a 3 day auction, from oct 1-3, held online at bidjit

bidjit is relativly new, but out of all the venues i spoke to about this, i was so very thrilled with them. their vision of what they are building is wonderful, and the poeple there are fabulous. you will be seeing a lot more of bidjit in the future.

like moniker, there is a 15% commission charged on each domain sale. unlike moniker, 10% of each sale will go to the st. jude childrens research center. the remainder covers escrow, venue, costs, etc.

ALL transactions will be handled thru escrow.com- and they will cut the check directly to st. jude's- so money will be contained within one handler- escrow.com. brandon abbey has been wonderful in working with us on this.

all the information for the auction and the name submission form will be on smashfactory.com, and the actual auction will be on bidjit.com.

you can submit domains now- submissions will stop sept. 15th

the only domains NOT being considered at all are adult, trademark or offensive

you can set a reserve for your name so there are no worries about losing a name to a lower than expected price-

if you have ANY other questions post them here please or pm me so all the info is in one thread.

thanks! i hope we raise a nice amount for the childrens research hospital!

Please note that according to Rule #18 --

18. No charity, fundraising, "woe is me", or any other form of persuasive posts. Too many scams. You may have a well known charity in your signature, that's it. Threads designed to persuade members to provide sympathetic consideration will be deleted and infraction points or bans will be issued.

Smash -- I know you are a well known and well respected member on the forum and I would totally love to support this cause.

However, it would not be possible to make an exception for one cause without opening a can of worms in future. You know, stuff like -- How is my charity or cause not better than theirs? Are you being biased against my cause? You guys are being racist by not allowing me to raise money for poor Indian kids while letting someone raise money for this or that? etc. etc.

I hope you understand our position about this matter. As a result, I am going to have to close this thread on this forum because of this rule.
