Two stories come to mind (one DomainGang and one uncredited - so far)
The Brian Diener piece - it should come as no surprise that most of his friends have not heard of new TLD's. And chances are they won't - until the new .audi commercials start hitting the TV ads. Anything new and different and totally outside-the-mainstream is usually picked up and noticed rather quickly (especially by the tech savvy - which is all the generation Y'ers).
The other item that peeked my interest is regarding Uniregistry's sister site regging and parking tens of thousands of Uniregistry's proprietary gTLD's to inflate the numbers of regs. And Frank's admission/denial?
Am I surprised? No. And would I be surprised at anyone else doing this? Absolutely not. Seems to be some bragging rights and rush to press stories about some name surpassing some other name in number of regs...
et tu, .club?
