microsoft are not the best at keeping track of their domain names. If I remember correctly when hotmail.com dropped someone caught it and handed it back to them.

Uh not so much.

I remember this and saw the news story when it happened. They forgot to pay the registration. He paid it for them and it was turned back on. They gave him $1000 or so dollars of free software and nice thank you letter.

It never dropped.
