This is a sign to keep buying up the .me names....spend all your available cash on the future... .me

Do not pay any attention to the dropping .com, .net's &.orgs....it is not like a mini version of 2001 all over again...names like Arson.com, DrugDealer.com, HotPeppers.com, Safely.com, MultipleChoice.com, MusicCard.com, Passwords.net, Classified.net (which all drop today) are not where it will be at....

Guys have a look at the bids
Contact.Me, Read.Me, Feed.Me, Alert.Me, Save.Me will receive
at the Next auction for premium names on Jan 19
and then let's re-discuss about .me domains.
We will all be impressed by the attention this extension gets by new investors
with new fresh capital.

Well, .me means Europe and not Montenegro to European companies.
And while actually the US are totally crushed by the financial crisis,
Europe is in a better shape and it the new super-power of the world.
To all the US guys out there, get ready as Europe is gonna take the lead
and .me domains will be our weapon in our hands.
Why does /me mean Europe? I don't understand that logic. .me has a better chance than a lot of recent tld's but what would an established company rather want.. an established .com address with existing traffic or the newborn .me where it will be an uphill battle for recognition, branding and traffic.

I understand your point in full but all established companies have already a .com domain so to create a newer brand they need something new.
As an example a British Emergency Care company to promote their business and thinking about creating a brand would choose Saveme.co.uk ,Saveme.com or Save.me ? (Save.me by the way will be listed in the upcoming Moniker auction)
Customers of course would love and remember more Save.me instead of Saveme.com or Saveme.co.uk.
It is clear .me are to create brandable websites their are not simple domains.

I understand the potential, but what makes you think so many companies will want to do branding with .me ? It's nothing more than a domain hack. I never saw gold in domain hacks.

lol, the guys in 2001 had it easy (aside from the domain market not being what it is today)..little competition, no auctions - thats a biggie. Imagine getting these babies for reg fee, damn.

DotMe domains are simply the future.
All the new popular mega sites on the net are about ME.

Someone posted on mobi forum that
Kids today are starting think .com are litle outdated.
If this is true it not good for my com',s:disappointed: as i have some very good .com's, but luckily i have some good .Me names also;)

I read Apple boss even just called the kids for the Me generation.

It's al about .ME now - I think thats why GoDaddy owner Bob Parsons just change his blog from Com to .ME.

Bob Parsons has allot of money invested in .me. That's it.

The Apple boss?

The next generation has been said to be generation X. So, then should all domains be .x? Your statement makes no sense.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_X

DotME is not the future. .me is newest coolest thing for 2009, that's all.

All the new popular mega sites on the net are about ME? That makes no sense. All the most popular sites on the net are .com and no one will ever argue that.

Trust me Bob Parsons has so much money he would never move his blog over to .ME if he did not believe DotMe is the future.

Facebook, Myspace, hi5, dating sites all these major sites are ALL about ME.

.Me has just been on market 6 months and already

ME Domain Names Had World Record Growth in 2008

January 15, 2009; 08:16 AM

2009-01-15 14:02:50 - With the startup sales of the DotMe domain extension setting Internet world records, as the fastest ever selling new domain extension, .ME domains certainly seem to be taking the Internet by storm.

More and more companies are making sure they snap up their brands with the new popular DotMe extension.

.ME domains are ideal for Web and Mobile 2.0 enthusiasts and evangelists - a domain extension that serves as a perfect platform for personalized and user-generated content. It is about "ME'.

With millions f "MEs" as members of sites as Facebook, Hi5, Multiply, and MySpace, blogs such as TMZ and Technorati, and micro-blogging services like Twitter, the websphere is becoming more dynamic and intearctive and consumers are proving that the net is becoming more about "ME".

Many domain pundits predict that the DOTME extension could become one of the most valuable domain extensions by 2010, and many companies are evaluating and developing marketing campaigns to showcase their valuable brands with the .ME extension.

After only 6 months, there are already 357 DotMe Websites in Alexa's top 1 million sites, which is astounding for an extension launched in the Summer of 2008.

Leading and innovatives companies, including Apple, Microsoft, Google and Deutsche Telekom, have already registered the popular DotMe extension.

Stats 15 January 2009 from Alexa.com's top 1 million websites amazingly shows:

.ME already have 353 websites in Alexa top 1 Milllion list!
.ASIA has 94 websites in top 1 million list (.Asia launched 2-3 month before .ME did)
.Mobi has 252 websites in top 1 million list (.Mobi launched 2 years before .ME did).

According to dot-me.of-cour.se
Among all top level domains in 2008, .ME websites have enjoyed the fastest growth in Google with more than 50% every month!

Purchasing .ME domain names, setting up .ME websites are all happening at world record pace, a pace that has caught many by surprise, people and businesses are turning more and more to these new popular domains that are so perfect for branding example: Date.me Youand.Me, Loan.Me Vegas.Me, Email.Me, Hollywood.me, Insure.Me, Mobile.Me ..

More and more web 2.0 specialists are now advising to start snapping up these DotMe domains. Whether it be to create their own Web 2.0 or 3.0 site, or use the .Me names for branding.

The Internet has become all about You and .ME!

One needs to almost be blind and with sunglasses if you can't see
.ME is doing extremely well and it might be a very good idea pick up a couple of .Me domains now.

Once again we get to see the same rehashed copy-paste articles that support the one-sided vision of .me cultists.
If unidentified domain 'pundits' say so it must be true
I thought .mobi had been the climax of domaining hysteria. I was wrong

I have one challenge for you: try to find out how many .me domains have been registered so far. If the extension is so successful they should not be shy about publishing stats.
Or perhaps they only pick the stats that are most favorable ?
The figures don't lie.

So one group of self-hypers are relying on comments from the other group of domain self-hypers and the rest of us are to believe it?

Trust us kid - we've seen all this garbage before. You are fooling nobody. If you manage to stay around for the next domain extension release mark my words - someone will pick up where you left off hyping .crap as the greatest thing since .me.

.

You might want go to alexa top one million list
You might also want go look in google and see number of me pages:

These numbers are facts my friend what ever you like it or not.

ME already have 353 websites in Alexa top 1 Milllion list!
.ASIA has 94 websites in top 1 million list (.Asia launched 2-3 month before .ME did)
.Mobi has 252 websites in top 1 million list (.Mobi launched 2 years before .ME did).

If you think .me is worthless why you using so much of your time on bashing it every time something positive is out about DotMe;). Friends don't worry so much about the big .ME's success, your .com''s will still be around with good prices.;)

And your point is ?
I see 4024 .biz in that alexa list.
Progress is always more impressive when you start from nothing. At least it may be a positive sign that development is taking place in the extension.
As for the leading companies registering .me you must know for a fact they registered other TLDs like .asia, .tel or .mobi for the sake of avoiding cybersquatting of their brands.
Don't kid yourself.

Sorry for being harsh but the valuable domains are in the hands of the registry, not yours. Most .me names floating around are average at best and wouldn't sell in .com or any other extension. The same holds true for the .asia & .mobi names people registered a while ago.
Good luck in your endeavors :)

And that's EXACTLY why the registry and those closest to it are continuing the hype. Classic pump and dump.

To .me hypers - take a close look at the curve mobi went through. If you are not out in the next few months you will suffer the same fate. Look for yourself - the evidence of the hype and subsequent price rise then rapid collapse is right in front of your eyes if only you take a second to look. If your plan is to follow the few mobi boosters who got in and out early and made a bundle - good for you, but just don't expect others to put up with sales pitches! :eek:k:

Thing is about .me is all of the good ones are held back. To all of the .me investors in this thread, what quality .me domains do you own? Even if .me is the future there are only so many .me domains that make any sense.

I dont think all the good ones are being held back, I personally own quite a few including
Undress.Me, WillYouMarry.ME, Smell.ME, Admire.ME & BidOn.ME and i believe they are all very premium and brandable. I will be selling a few in domainfest, but also holding others because i know they have great potential.
.com will be king for the foreseeable future but i think .me can reign in second if things go well..
