Hey all,

I'm hoping to hear some suggestions for a registrar I can resell .ca domains through. eNom says they will be doing it in "the future", but I have no idea what that means... OpenSRS would cost me more than most registrars charge retail, so there is no way I could be competitive if I used them...

What are other people doing?

I'm actually using openSRS for .ca domain. Still very competitive price, of course you can't beat most of .ca resellers.

Hmm, interesting... I suppose perhaps I might be best going with them for now. Its just that:
$15 CAD is what CIRA charges tucows
$20-25 CAD is what a bunch of the retail registrars charge the public
$18 USD is what tucows charges its resellers. When you look at exchange rates, things become difficult...

You are accurate with your information ddent.

Though if your target customer is retail, still acceptable price of $24.95-35.95 price .ca registration.

I suppose some might be willing. I guess there is little harm in trying :).

Its a shame eNom hasn't gotten around to it (though nothing says they would have a better price).

Just wonder how much would eNom charge to compete with Domainsatcost.ca's CAN$19.99 RETAIL price.

Hmm ... it's already March 18th here in the morning ...

The .ca is now added to www.needname.com website. The www.myid.biz site is also updated for .ca domain extension.

You may also register a domain name of .ca for only $19.95/yr, just send your paypal payment to [email protected] and your enom account information.

Hello spitfires,

It's there already, the .cn and .ca is actually in red color signifies newly added domain extension.

Let me know how will I be able to assist you.

Thank you,
tw

I was actually expecting worse... they don't always do great on the other TLDs. but 13.95 is ok anyway, if not wonderful.

Providing that eNom is NOT a CIRA-certified registrar, and the base price of a dot-ca for REGISTRARS is CAN$15, US$13.95 is already a VERY GOOD price. Remember there are at least 2 middlemen in between: eNom and a mysterious CIRA-certified registrar. By the way, who know WHICH Canadian registrar is eNom partnering with?

It in action on a PDQ site. I sold my PDQ site and the new owner has not updated it.

I will have to ajust my sites....would be nice if they cleaned up and updated the Registry Rocket site.

Registry rocket is always late to do the update. PDQ is way to go.

On purpose to get people to use PDQ, I imagine :).

nameslave, I haven't checked CIRA's list for a little bit, but what makes you say eNom is not a direct registrar with them? It would seem odd because I am sure they will have no difficulty getting the necessary volume. CIRA accredidation is "only" a few thousand dollars...

If you have any names with them you'll be able check who they are partnered with if it is not direct by looking in the whois.

Speaking of, anyone tried transferring domains from another registrar to them yet? I imagine things might be a bit 'interesting' because people are required to approve changes at CIRA, and someone I don't think that fits into their existing model.
