Don't waste your time, I flew to Cameroon and spoke with the CEO - they won't release names to non-locals.

what do they mean? Companies have been known to enter into business ventures with minority partners who are locals. Say I own 70% of the company and my cameroon contact the other 30% then we simply reg the names. Why would Camerooon object to foreign investments?

Maybe - I know of another domainer who hired a local contact in Cameroon and also had no luck. He posted in another forum.

When their goverment gets informed about this.. The involved persons will loose their 43 wifes and will sent to live with a big tiger (or something similar) in a cave for 2 weeks. (no internet in the cave)...

They must be really rich by now, but i wondering how and from who they get paid?

in the FAQ it says they are authorized to do it by the Cameroon government, to raise revenue for the Cameroon people.

They are working for me, including Google.CM, except Yahoo.CM isn't.

Overture is banning names because of potential TM conflicts. Now someone with an Overture feed is typosquatting on almost every TM. Check out http://www.etrade.cm or http://www.eloan.cm.
Talk about a double standard. Can someone figure out which parking company is the biggest typosquatter in the world?

Another strange twist in the world of domaining, I didn't know there was a .co or .cm extension, but I used to think they would be good typo extensions.

The first thing is I feel sorry for anyone in Cameroon who wants to reg a domain in their own cctld.

The second thing is I wish Canada had been called 'Conada' or 'Camada' and we had gotten the .co or .cm extension instead. lol
