We need a link.

Depending on how good the solution is... $15k sounds rather cheap.

15k sounds too cheap ... You need to check out shuffling algorithms and if they are licensed by a gaming commission to prevent collusion, etc... There are a lot of these with shady shuffling algorithms. For a nice one your looking at 60 to 65k minimum.

The supplier all the network, payment options etc and you have the site designed in your name etc so it looks like its yours, well it is but the infrastructure is someone elses and you get paid a commision.

Ask them if they are licensed by a gaming commission

i think you have the terminology mixed up.

collusion occurs when two or more players share each other’s cards in order to change their odds. this is mostly done in online poker since it's kinda hard to share cards playing face to face. there is not much that can be done about collusion. PartyPoker.com monitors the users PC task list to find applications which are known to send card data across the network. they also don't allow two users to play from the same IP. however, this is still fairly common even on the biggest poker sites.

poker algorithms can't be shady, they are either STRONG or WEAK. weak algorithms are easy to crack and allow the user to see all their opponents cards as well as all future cards and all cards in the deck in their proper order. WEAK poker algorithms were evident in early poker programs, they really do not exist in the current market. obviously strong algorithms use a few variables (instead of just system time as seed) to calculate deck order.

you usually won't be able to check the strength of the algorithm (well, even if you were given the source you wouldn't really be able to do much with it unless you are extremely good at math) because the companies licensing this software do not want to risk someone cracking it.

$15k is a FAIR price for a licensed solution, especially considering the rev share. if you are interested in a completely custom solution we can do something in the $45k range assuming you want an operation similar to say partypoker.com.

best of luck

Luc,

There are many types of collusion, and you are only mentioning one.

"A secret agreement between two or more parties for a fraudulent, illegal, or deceitful purpose."

However, your example is one method of collusion i was speaking of ... and yes there are gaming commissions that research shuffeling algorithms, before they grant a license to that site. Most large poker sites go way beyond just monitoring play from the same IP address. I did not say you can check the shuffeling algorithms yourself ... that is what the gaming commision has already done for you when a poker software company/site receives there license. I think the most popular one is the Kawanee Gaming Commision. I have done vast research on many different poker software companies used by the major players in the game. If you can find one for 15k name it.

From what he has said so far though, he's not actually paying for a custom solution but rather a cookie cutter system into which they insert his site name along with some design work and which he promotes, but they (probably) process payments for and for which he has to do a rev share.

this means that he never sees the actual source code of the backend, which means he's not buying the backend. $15k for that is a FAIR price, i think i've seen them go for as cheap as $5k but with a higher rev share.

at least that's what i gather from what he said, but maybe i'm reading his post wrong.

I've never really known cobranding to cost this much... or much of anything at all. If they handle support and payment... you're nothing more than an affiliate!

I would investigate Luc's offer as $45k sounds very reasonable to get real poker software in your own name.

Yes, Thats pretty much the same offering as these guys http://www.gamecities.com/. I would be weary of them.

This page will lead you to a list of very good online gaming software companies:
http://online.casinocity.com/software/. If you click on the details of each company, you can see some of the sites they developed software for.

Good luck,

John

Luc checked them out and said they seem fine, but check this out as well :

Operated by Island Poker (Europe) Ltd, which is a joint venture between eMoney Invest, BVI investment fund, and one of Europe's largest online gaming provider, ADLM Ltd. It is the flagship site of the PokerProfit.com network. Visit the Island Poker website for further details.

They look like they are tied in with partypoker somehow with 45k players in the network at once !
