Mike... what makes BuyDomains so special?

See casinocredit.com which is owned by BuyDomains and under Fabulous 4.0 redirection. This domain sends the subfolder traffic direct to links.

We have a commercial third party relationship with BuyDomains whereby the domains they park with Fabulous reside on their nameservers. Details of this relationship are confidential and I am unable to comment further.

That does not answer the question as to why you allow subfolder traffic to buydomains and not the rest of us.. commercial agreement or not.

Basically I am reading this as they are more important to you than the rest of your members.

I really think you need to clarify this some more Mike.

The long and the short of it is, because the domains they park with us are on their nameservers, the way the domain names resolve is different to the Fabulous setup.

If I remember correctly you do no allow standard members to use there own NameServers and insist that they use Fabulous NameServers..

In light of this new information is this policy set to change? what if anything will fabulous be doing to address the concerns of the members here?

We have a number of commercial relationships with domain for sale companies, such as BuyDomains and AfterNic. With these arrangements, the third parties need their domains to remain on their nameservers so they can track clicks/revenue to pass through to their customers.

Apart from these partnerships, we still require our customers to use our nameservers, and have no plans in changing this policy.

At Fabulous, we strive to address all customer enquires and we appreciate all comments/suggestions/feedback that is received.

I really don't understand the logic of Fabulous at all. It just doesn't make sense to me.

We have an excellet generic poker type-in domain name (non-TM) that has been performing quite well for over a month now in their 'Poker' category and i've just received an email from them to say that they are moving it to the 'Poker Online' category where it will own both Fabulous and me much lower revenue.

The email says:

The reason for this change is because the Poker category is reserved for premium poker domains that are specifically related to actual poker room sites and styles of poker like texas holdem, etc.
----

but I would have thought that my poker name is one of the best type-in poker names there is. No TM issues, just high quality type-in traffic.

I'm going to be moving all my domains away from Fabulous and cannot recommend them based on my experience.

I've been trying to get the info from them on how they decide on the 2 main poker categories since I started with them, and everytime I think I've got it figured out I'll get a domain rejected.

You'll still earn more in the lower category than you would anywhere else, so it's doesn't make sense to move your domains because of this - but I agree with you, if a domain is consistently getting high clickthrus then it surely means that the traffic is highly targeted and should really be moved to the better category (or stay in it with your situation)

I believe I can earn just as much, if not more, by sending the traffic elsewhere.

This really is a point of principle. There is no logic to the way they operate. There is no reason for them to have moved my high quality poker domain name to a lower category.

It doesn't make sense and I can't work with a company that treats me in that way.

In any event, i'd actually rather earn less and use a company that care.

croupier is right.. you will find it hard to find any company that would pay what Fabulous Pay without you having to do that much work.

Fabulous have to answer to its advertisers and to be honest I am sure they have good reason for doing this. See how it goes in the new category..

Well they haven't explained their reasoning at all and I won't be keep the domain name parked with them.

All their recent actions have no valid reason at all, just like the sub-directory discussion further up this thread.

I just can't recommend them from now one.

Fabulous reserves the right to categorize domains to the category they believe is most appropriate/relevant, as per our terms and conditions, Section 3, clause h.

Fabulous.com reserves the right to determine in its sole and absolute discretion, that the traffic from one or more of the Domains is not being redirected to the Appropriate Fabulous Advertisers. In the event that such a determination is made, Fabulous.com may immediately upon notifying the Domain Name Owner (in writing or via email) of its determination, redirect the traffic from the relevant domain name to those Fabulous Advertisers it chooses (in its sole and absolute discretion) until such time as the Domain Name Owner and Fabulous.com reach an agreement (in writing or email) regarding who are the Appropriate Fabulous Advertisers for the relevant domain name.

We have an obligation to send our advertisers the highest quality traffic possible. It is because of our strict guidelines that we are able to offer such high costs per click for categories such as Poker.

Glomedia - I am sorry that you feel you need to move your domains elsewhere. I wish you all the best for your future endeavors.

Thanks for letting me know the quality of our traffic is really that bad. If it was that bad why would you even want it in your Poker Online category?

In your email to me you say that "We believe the phrase "poker player" infers that the user is looking for information on a particular poker player, not actually wanting to play poker." - well to be honest that is absolute nonsense.

pokerplayer.com is owned by Party Poker and is used for playing real poker, not an information site about particular poker players.

In any event in my experience of running my own multimillion dollar turnover PPC company, ads don't get clicked upon if they are not relevant.

The fact that the Fabulous ads on this domain name get about get about a 20% CTR is an indication that the traffic is good quality and relevant. Poor quality traffic has a very low CTR.

We always strive to provide the highest quality traffic and this case I truly believe you are completely in the wrong and the traffic is of the highest quality. You can use the Fabulous reports to see where the traffic is coming from. 85% of it is USA, and over 95% of it is type in traffic to the name or searches on a search engine for "pokerplayer" or similar.
