Thank you all for the interest in Britain.cc.

Unfortunately, the deal fell thru as some do here at DNF as cash is used here unless mutually agreed beforehand.

I have many asking if its sold since the dealbuster.

(I just got done typing up a long letter about the name but it didn't post.) I had/have posters who asked during the failed sale, asking if still available, posters email/pm who lamented they missed it, now many asking it its still available, and many who asked if its available, then sold and where to send payment.

I have not agreed to sell to anyone during or after the failed sale.

I believe a few/many would send me timestamps as to their previous interest in the name as many will believe they had previous rights. I believe few/many would send me pms/emails, that if they knew it was still available they would have purchased it.

Again, I have not agreed to sell to anyone during or after the failed sale.

It's unfortunate that terms of sale were not stated as to purchase, but that's hindsight.
As the first person to post "sold" was unacceptable then maybe the 2nd person to post sold should take it as the name was not posted as withdrawn from sale in the thread. However that is just my feeling - it is not a dictate or a "Mod Decision" and I do not know what has occurred "behind the scenes" - it is the 2nd unfortunate selling situation we've had in a week!
You must decide what to do, including for the benefit of your reputation.

As a member for two years now, most sales are assumed as Paypal cash. Sales are cash and carry. Mostly those rules were used at DNF auctions including at least 30 days of registration before listing. There is also a rule that no other sales are to be listed elsewhere but many, many are duplicated at other forums.
I believe I have a strong reputation here at DNF and elsewhere. When I post "sold", I have cash to back it up immediately.

I kept the sale despite the threads after I posted my sales thread indicated that .cc's were going for lots of money at AN and elsewhere and my asking was a typo; I still held up my sale but I will not accept an eCheck as many others here at DNF won't either. Its another unwritten rule. eChecks are held for 6-10 days and yes, like any other check, it can bounce.

I do not hold names either. As a domainer for many many years, I have many offers and accepted offers, only to have the offer never get paid and the person who make the offer disappear. And being in the business, its not uncommon to have an inquiry within the same period of time, only to have the first offer delay their response and the second offerer not willing to wait for an answer. So I do not hold names.

DNF and forums like this, we can expect rock bottom bargains but for that rock bottom price, we expect immediate payment.

Please be assured I am not making any adverse comment about your reputation - I have no reason to do so!
Nor am I criticising your desire not to wait 8 days for payment.
Personally I do not envy you your decision as to what to do now - I know what I would do but that does not mean that you have to do the same.

To clarify, the reply to thread with SOLD for the second time, is not the first person requested to mark SOLD. I have a pm asking me too but this does not take into consideration, all the others who have/had expressed interest in the name prior to actions of failed sale, continuing to failed sale.

Many others were interested in the name prior to actions of the failed sale and many, many more when the sale actually failed.

What I am saying is that many would be saying they had indicated their desire to purchase, had they known it was a failed sale or if they knew it was a failed sale, they would have bought.

I understand - it is not an easy decision to make.

Just for everyone's info: I will be going thru the lists of pm's and emails and will be contacting, in order, and to the best of my knowledge and ability, those who had interest in the name of Britain.cc for $200 Paypal cash.

I'll post SOLD when someone takes it off my hands.

Please keep in mind, that I will wait for a short time for a reply due to time differences before moving on to the next person.

I think this is a lengthier process but the fair thing to do.

I can vouch for Wired's excellent reputation. After purchasing a name from him (which expired Nov 2004) he voluntarily (without my asking) paid for a 1-yr extension to 11/05 before he transfered it to me. That was really a cool unexpected benefit and made even better since it was a low price name so the renewal fee was a large percentage of the sale price. Thanks Wired.

I likewise have had good experience working with Wired in the past, and although I did not have the pleasure of buying this domain from him, his decision to sell it at the original price in a "first-come-first-serve" fashion definitely bespeaks his integrity.

A special thank you to those who bought a name or two and took them home. Thank you for the business and good luck with the names.

Its several minutes past 10:00 Eastern and this Enom Sale has ended.
