Over the past few weeks I have been testing out the new Expanded Promo services from AfterNIC and "WOW" they even promote your domains on SEDO so the need for listing at sedo is negated.

Domains are being listed on Buydomains, AfterNIC, TDNAM, SEDO and a host of others.

I was wondering with this sort of marketing muscle and some big sales, what is SEDOs position in the marketplace.

Lets hope that this is a wake up call for the SEDO-ites.

This sort of serious competition is truly needed to give SEDO that kick up the ass its been needing for some time now.

The expanded promo at AfterNIC is 20% commission, and so far its seems that the domainers are willing to pay for that extra service.

This year I have never seen so many companies go after the SEDO dollar with such aggresive marketing. Even our very own CyberTonic is putting his dollars to good use against the mighty SEDO.

Whats everyones thoughts on the market? SEDO appear not to be phased by it all as their customer service and satisfaction is still at an all time low.

Could a convergance in Parking/AfterMarket be that light that we have all been waiting for. With no big announcements from the SEDOPlex at the latest Traffic Event, what with Monte and crew taking all the spotlights and the thunder, is it time to withdraw from the customer un-friendly parking programs ?

Exciting times are here, the domainers have spoken. Now SEDO take Notice!!!

Could you post some links to domains parked at Afternic with PPC content? How does the revenue compare to Sedo's feeds?

The reason I left Afternic was because they cut out all gambling and adult names completely. I haven't forgotten.

I only park my domains with parked.. I was talking more about the AfterMarket.

As for the 20% fee and membership fees, I agree it is a lot to swallow (price your domains to take that into consideration). But I guess you get what you pay for. Whats does sedo charge again, oh yeah 10% and a bunch of headaches and awful customer service. Case and Point.

SEDO is now the IKEA of the domain industry.

IKEA is synonymous to cheap quality furniture. Wal-Mart is cheap too but lacks quality. Try Target :D

The analogy is that you can either go to IKEA and suffer all the queues and terrible customer service or you can choose to go elsewhere and pay the extra for that extra pre-built service.

Not sure about quality, 2 of my tables busted just after 3 months, no amount of glue could keep those buggers together :p

Wal-Mart would of been a better example, especially after watching that documentary on how they treat staff and customers, now that was an eye opener.

It's a thread I cannot really comment for many reasons.
Also BIG changes are coming with PremiumDomain(s).com very soon.

My speech will be more general.

Whatever you can do to improve the exposure of your domains for sale is a VERY positive point. Doing this you maximize your sales chances!

The comments saying that it's a shame to need to spend money to get exposure are simply stupid.

Yes agreed, comments like that are very laughable and naive. Were I to sell a prime piece of real estate I would most certainly invest in several routes to market to ensure that I get more buck for my brick

You have to speculate to accumulate.

SO I guess the question is: Do you part with 10% and sell maybe 5 domains a year or do you part with 20% and sell 50 domains a year? to me its a no brainer. Its a mute point though as you just include the commission in the final sales price.

Can you post a link or send it to me so I can check out this new program?

Right now, 10% of nothing is nothing for sedo or for me.

Pay 20$ to list your domains and pay 20% per sale. Sounds like a killer deal

Okay, here's the deal, I would love to check out what all this chatter is about for myself but have no idea where to go or where to begin.

So, if someone could tell me where to go (keep the hate to a minimum as well as all the sayings, spellings, and IDN's for hell to a minimum) for me to check this out myself, once again I ask...

LINK PLEASE!

Hi

Link removed.

why?

It's "inappropriate" to be promoting a competive link in this section.

Perhaps start a "Promo" thread in another section.

Thanks
