Not a promotion it was an answer to a request. Linked PMed

It's a promotion and it's disrespectful to SEDO to continue to try to "raise awareness" of a competive program, by starting a thread in their section.

It would not be an issue if posted in a section for this competitor.

If you want to suggest that they have their own section, then that's fine.

But please show some respect for all of our "PPC and Domain Monetization or Brokerage/Showcase markets, that have their own respective areas.

We have the opportunity to share inside information and suggestions to each and every one of these services....at our fingertips.

Thanks

I will not argue symantics, thread started as a comparative discussion and as the program in question is using sedo as a sales vertical it is relative, if the thread subject matter was an issue you would of closed it earlier and prior to your comments about "not paying membership and commission fees"

Back on topic. Do members think that this sort of competition is a benefit to the industry?

I for one believe that it may help shake up the issues at SEDO.

If I understand things correctly,

You pay for a service that lists names for sale on mutiple venues. That can't be a bad thing.

The $19.95 fee to join is not even a factor, as already mentioned.

Not sure of this fee structure:

Expanded Promotion Sales Fee 20%, $120 minimum Buyer or ActiveExchange

Basic Promotion Sales Fee 10%, $60 minimum Buyer or ActiveExchange

I think overall the concept is fabulous. The fees are not even a huge concern when it comes to top level domains.

There is some vagueness in the promotional material when there is mention of "and select partners" or "and many partners" but I guess an email to inquire as to exactly who, what, where, and when will clear this matter up.

Unless someone already knows the specific "partners" mentioned per Expanded and Basic.

I know they have logos posted. Yet there was mention of Sedo yet I see no Sedo logo in the line up.

I started to add a notation concening the threads direction, but let it proceed until the link was posted.

and for my comments about paying a membership fee on top of commisions...it's not the money, it's the principle.

like I said before, if you got good names you don't need any listing/marketing service. people will contact you and you just decide how to collect your money.

I've already sold 2 names this month on sedo were the buyers either called or sent emails and simply chose sedo to handle the transactions, which by the way, were completed in less than 48hrs.

when people start feeding others dreams of big money sales if they list here or there....then it's still a big IF...only for a fee and higher commissions!

With respect to sedo, yes as far as I am led to believe will be listing domains on behalf of the program as is there owners united internet.

One of my premiums made it on to TDNAM to my suprise, I was about to send a Cease and Desist thinking someone was scamming my domain. But I was informed that it was buydomain listing it. I guess the extra 10% is to cover the fees of the other programs. Which is fair enough.

I think its a great thing, and I am all for competition in this volatile marketplace as it tends to kick slack companies into gear.

Hi Everyone,

Contrary to what has been stated earlier, domains listed on Afternic are currently not listed simultaneously on Sedo (or vice versa). In order to have domain names listed for sale on Sedo.com, they still need to be listed directly through Sedo.com. While it is true that Afternic and Sedo are in friendly discussions about such a possibility, currently no such feature is provided. Should a cooperation be formed in the future all customers will be informed.

Cheers,

Tom

I'll take service anyway I can get it and seems like I have not been getting it...period.

Still waiting on parking proceeds from Feb.

Guess my rants have pissed Sedo off but I am the customer.

Nearly 2900 domain names later we are still dealing with the same issues...customer service.

PM RECEIVED FROM MONICA at sedo.

Glad someone from Sedo is supporting us domainers and monitoring the forums.
