Wildcard - you win the prize. The only question remaining is, who owns the stock in the corporation? If it was set-up or acquired during the marriage, it is a marital asset subject to division.

Death of a domain owner?

Erny West - one of the webs best promoters, inovative search engine tecnology and a VERY nice guy, died a couple of years ago. He invented more site promotion concepts than anyone else I know.

I picked up his domain, informed all the incomeing links that he was no longer "active" and tried desperatly to find any of his family or freinds to take the domain - it was way over 1,000 hits a day at first.

I was 5 to 10 visitors when I let it go last month, someone else picked it up:

It's not easy to know what to do when you search for a domain and see World Trade Center, New York in the whois.

I haven't come across that yet, hellstrom, and I'd hate to because it'd make me very sad. I've thought about that happening, but I really have never seen that in the WhoIs yet...

There are quite a few domain names listing the WTC as the registrant address. I had made a list of them a while back as a case in point for the ICANN whois task force as to why a 15 day notification period may be unacceptably search.

Googling the zip code of the WTC towers is a good way to find quite a few.

John, interesting info. Still a horrid event in history for someone to search for WTC in domain searches.

*Btw, I appreciate your and Howard's expertise on legal matters and other legal opinions on this topic.

Miller, I think you missed the point. Nobody in this thread was condoning the practice of seeking and registering domains previously owned by WTC victims. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Vultures are graceful and beautiful animals, and an important part of the ecosystem. Let's not insult those fine birds by comparing them to domainers.

Are you suggesting that birds of prey, which attack the living, are nobler?

I have a lot more respect for a vulture cleaning up a dead squirrel, than an owl attacking a defenseless mouse.

As mentioned before, it would depend on shares in the company and transfer according to a will. They are also subject as assets in a divorce.
