Results 1 - 100 of about 10,100,000 for "women's basketball". (0.21 seconds)

What percentage of visitors would say are going to type in womansbasketball.mobi?

Is it safe to say that most 2 word .mobi's receive little to no traffic?

That sentence works even without "2 word" in it.

its safe to say undeveloped .mobi's do not receive any traffic - at all.
there are some exceptions i guess.. like typo's of existing developed mobi sites.

but even one word generic mobi's from landrush do not receive traffic... why would they?

any traffic i get to my .mobi's i assume is just other domainers looking at them..

Are you saying if you develop a .mobi it will magically get traffic?

you already asked me that... of course not.. the "just develop it" is generally bad advice..

the only question that is next is : does keyword.TLD have any value by itself?

and thats a question with lots of different answers according to who you ask.

How many years down the road are you predicting .mobi will really take off? And what is the .mobi registry doing to promote it?

am i predicting mobi will take off ?

mobi doesnt have to "take off" for it to be profitable for me.

im one of those people that think keyword.TLD does have some value...

So then are you saying to get traffic to a .mobi you have to pay for it?

of course.

or some means of advertising - which mostly all cost money.

Say someone wants to buy a domain name with the intension of making money from revenue from the site. Would you recommend they buy a .mobi?

In a few weeks, the forums will be full of people trying to flip their .asia domains. The smart money doesn't invest in dead money TLDs.

i wouldnt recommend anything.. i would tell them to do their own homework and decide for themselves.

i will say that mobile advertising as a whole is very new - so whether or not its on a .mobi domain - there are some things to consider.

if reselling .name domains were as profitable as .mobi, maybe.

but since theyre not - no thanks.

Let me rephrase. Say your best friend tells you he or she is about to register a .mobi and spend their last $10K to develop it. Would you encourage or discourage your best friend?

thats not enough details.

if i thought they were being naive i would discourage it.

an example of this is would be if they didnt know much about the internet and just got the idea from me talking about how i did okay with my .mobi's...

They spent a week reading Namepros during my hiatus. :)

but a lot of the points you debate i dont think are even assumed like you think they are..

to me, its more like common sense.. if its not .com or a popular country code - dont count on it for natural type in traffic.
