haven't regged one yet, being choosey but if the available ones are right, there is good quality left, and lots of LLL

the invalid reg message seems to be consistent, I've rechecked some names twice and seems to be consistent. kiss.mx is invalid every time, for example.

Anyone getting traffic on their .mx domains - english or spanish words?

I don't know about IDN, but finally picked a name:

wireless.mx

was really hard but it's a strong keyword, will keep checking back as the reg price goes down because there were others I liked.

Now, can anyone in Mexico tell me if Mexicans use the word wireless, or do you have another word for it?

after about 6 hours of research i finally pulled the trigger on 4 .mx domains. two in espanol and two in english.

one is support.mx. support.com.mx sold for $1k a while back so i felt confident this was a good buy. i will probably post this one for sale on the forum soon so i can finance some more purchases

down to $189.99 at godaddy today, I wonder at which price level they will start to really sell?

I purchase 11 names from since it started and plan on getting 10 more at around $100. I think at that price range people will really start jumping in.

250+ UV since sep 10th. 98% of the traffic from Mexico for a prime Spanish domain name.

lets see how those .mx domains will play off when being wanted or offered for a bid. i'd be using the .mx as to refer to the words " max " or " mix " rather then " mexico "

Honestly, I don't see much future in interpretations of this extension other than the original one. mx is the country code for Mexico, and IMO it has a bright future in that market. If you try to position it for English keywords with the extension meaning max or mix as you say, I think you'll have only a second grade domain, comparable to other weak extensions available.

A ton of keywords have been taken.
Don't let the silence fool you.
People are buying them up like crazy now.

I don't know. the price has dropped to $169 today, but I am still having trouble pulling the trigger on more names. I think the buying like crazy will not commence till the price gets below $100.

one thing that has me somewhat concerned is the exchange rate between dollars and pesos. A peso does not go a long way.

currently, 169.99 USD = 2,262.15 MXN

this is where I wonder about the debate over regging Spanish vs. English keywords. using the usual tools I have diserned that avertisers are not paying nearly as much CPC on google.com.mx for the same keywords that pay well on google.com

so is it better to get the spanish version of a keyword when advertisers are only paying, say 1/5th or less of the CPC. on the other hand the local search volume would be higher for the spanish version.

It would be nice to hear any Mexican domainers (are there any here on DNF?) to give some perspective to this

For instance, if you wanted to flip a .mx domain, who is your market? Is it a mexican domainer that would pay 10,000 pesos (~$750) or is it the English speaking domainers that may pay $x,xxx?
